Mercedes-Benz completes the GLC and GLC Coupe range with an inline six-cylinder diesel version. The Mercedes GLC 450 d 4Matic equipped with the OM656 M diesel with the mild hybrid system on 48V develops 367 PS plus 23 PS from an integrated starter generator. The price starts at 78,195 euros. The SUV coupe version is 7,000 euros more expensive.

The new generation Mercedes GLC is now available with nine engines:
– two petrol (GLC 200 4Matic 59,809 euro and GLC 300 4Matic 65,670 euro)
– two diesels (GLC 220 d 4Matic 62,415 euro and GLC 300 d 4Matic 68,110 euro)
– three PHEV versions, including one PHEV diesel (GLC 300 e 4Matic 73,649 euro, GLC 400 e 4Matic 77,100 euro, GLC 300 d 4Matic 75,196 euro)
– a high-performance version with a PHEV propulsion system (AMG GLC 63 S E Performance 121,856 euro).

The Mercedes GLC is available now with the OM 656 M six-cylinder inline diesel engine equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system developing 367 PS + 23 PS from the integrated starter generator. Thus, the Mercedes GLC 450 d 4Matic offers top performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in only 4.7 seconds, while the WLTP fuel consumption is only 6.3 l/100 km. It costs 78,195 euros, making it 10,000 euros more expensive than the GLC 300 d 4Matic version.

Compared to the GLC 300 d 4Matic, the Mercedes GLC 450 d 4Matic has almost 100 more ps (367 ps compared to 269 ps) and 200 Nm more (750 Nm available from 1,350 to 2,800 rpm compared to 550 Nm from 1,800 to 2,200 rpm), accelerates 1.6 seconds faster to 100 kph (4.7 compared to 6.3 seconds), and has a top speed of 250 kph compared to 243 kph in the GLC 300 d 4Matic.

The same level of performance is offered by the SUV-coupe version of the Mercedes GLC 450 d 4Matic Coupe, which is priced at 85,323 euros, being over 8,000 euros more expensive than the SUV version.

The price difference is not only due to the more powerful engine with two extra cylinders, but also to more equipments. If you order the AMG Line Exterior package (4,748 euros), it comes with AMG Line Advanced which includes 19-inch instead of 18-inch wheels, AMG Line Interior, AMG floor mats, AMG Styling, Artico/microcut black microfiber upholstery, ambient lighting and a braking system with larger brake discs on the front axle. But the Technology package with air suspension and integral steering is still optional and costs 3,320 euros as with the other versions.
