Getting into the world of motorsport can be a costly and time consuming endeavor but if you want to go racing a budget, we have found just the car for you.
This hillclimber and track car was purpose built by SHP Motorsports in the UK and is eligible to compete in various different British racing series. Making it really stand out is the Mercedes-Benz bodywork.
The race car has been listed up for auction on eBay and the seller notes that it has a full spaceframe construction with steel floor panels. Found within the cabin is a multi-point roll cage with carbon fiber floor pans and a carbon fiber dashboard. It also features an adjustable pedal box, a quick-release steering wheel, an electric fire extinguisher system, and an engine cut-off switch.
Elsewhere, the racer has been equipped with double-wishbone suspension that includes 3-way adjustable White Power shocks. Heavy-duty uprights and ball joints are also present while braking is provided by AP Racing 4-piston calipers up front clamping down on 320 x 34 mm discs and AP Racing 2-piston calipers at the rear with 280 x 20 mm discs. The car also sports braided brake lines and braided fuel lines.
Power comes courtesy of a 5.8-liter Ford V8 built by Roush Racing and tuned to produce 509 hp and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) of torque at 5,500 rpm. Coupled to this engine is a 5-speed dog-leg transmission with a 7.25-inch multi-plate clutch and sending power through a Ford 9-inch rear-end and a limited-slip differentia lto the rear wheels.
