When BRABUS calls it the ‘Rocket, they mean it. This 1-of-10 XLP 900 delivers 900 hp, extreme performance, ultra-luxury comfort, and true go-anywhere capability. Built for collectors who want it all.

Mind you, it’s not a pure “Rocket,” as the official name is the Brabus 900 XLP, and it is a 1-of-10 example that the famous tuner built. Normally, we would have said modified, but the upgrades are more than extensive.
First and foremost, this vehicle, which started life as a very nice Mercedes-AMG G 63, has been turned into a pickup. That’s right, it is no longer a premium-oriented SUV that can cope with the great outdoors, but a pure hauling machine that does not cut back on its luxury amenities. On top of that, it also features portal axles, a jacked-up suspension, a winch, massive tires wrapped around the new wheels, and extra lights for more fun off the beaten path.

The Brabus 900 XLP sports a gray-ish exterior paint finish and has plenty of black elements. It also has fender flares, new side skirts, a modified front bumper with additional daytime running lights, more lights above the front windscreen, a roof rack, a muscular hood, and a tweaked grille that displays the tuner’s logo in the middle. There are additional carbon fiber elements all around its exterior, as well as automatically-deployable side steps that are illuminated to enhance egress and ingress.
Have you noticed the red accents on the outside? Well, there are quite a few of them in the cabin too, contrasting the new Brabus-signed leather upholstery with special stitching. The steering wheel is still home to the three-pointed star brand’s emblem, and there are also some extra carbon fiber bits and pieces on the inside. These join the usual equipment, including the dual-screen setup, ambient lighting, electrically-operated seats with memory settings, sunroof, and a few other things.

Brabus’ 900 XLP also has an upgraded engine, whose displacement is now 4.5 liters, up from 4.0 liters. The turbochargers are new, and so are other components, and if you must know, the “900” in its name stands for the output in metric horsepower. Therefore, this Mercedes-AMG G 63 boasts 887 bhp and 662 kilowatts. The thrust stands at 922 pound-feet (1,250 Nm). The tuner claimed a few years ago that this model hits 130 mph (210 kph) and completes 0-62 mph (100 kph) in just 4.4 seconds.
We encountered several Brabus 900 XLP builds over the years, and they used to cost the equivalent of over $800,000. The one that you can see above in the photo gallery came from @sbxcars on Instagram, and it is searching for a new home. The vehicle is apparently part of an online auction, so you’d better hurry up and place a deposit if you really want it and have the finances to back up your craving. How much would you pay for this upgraded G 63?
