We were under the impression that we had seen it all and gotten the T-shirt when it comes to Mansory’s wacky takes on the modern-day Mercedes-AMG G 63 (and Benz G-Class). However, we were clearly wrong, as we totally forgot about the ’50 Shades of Grey’ (camouflage) custom pickup truck.

It was originally unveiled more than five years ago as a special edition limited to only seven copies worldwide. As its name suggests, this model is pretty much the offspring of Mansory and Philipp Plein, a famous German designer. It’s called the Star Trooper Pickup and clearly builds on the famous G-Wagen.

The most significant modification revolves around chopping off the body at multiple points. First and most importantly, it is a workhorse with a swinging tailgate at the rear, and second, it has fewer inches between the axles. In plain Mansory fashion, this ride also gets a complete body kit made of carbon fiber with fender extensions, new bumpers, a different hood, a roof attachment, and several other things.

Due to the small size, you won’t be doing much hauling in that pickup bed, but then again, you probably won’t when you hear how much this thing costs. But more on that in a few moments, as we also have to tell you that the custom workhorse features an urban camo-like look on the outside and a few red contrasting elements. It also features power-retractable side steps for easier ingress and egress, and rides on new Y-spoke 23-inch wheels with red flanges.

This very special pickup truck is home to some red lights that one would expect to see on a special forces vehicle for better camouflage at night. These can be seen in the front bumper, grille, above the front windscreen, and in the side steps, illuminating them. A Philipp Plein logo decorates the car’s new grille.

Some of the goodies mentioned in the ad include the Night Package, Extended AMG Night Package Exterior, Exterior Stainless Steel Package, Seat Comfort Package Plus, electric sliding glass roof, Burmester sound system, frameless interior mirror, heated windshield, auxiliary heater, 360-degree camera system, Pre Safe, traffic sign assist, collision prevention assist, active distance assist, ambient lighting, dual-screen MBUX setup, and a few other bits and bobs that one would expect from a Mercedes-AMG G 63.

If you remember our initial coverage of this model, then you probably know how much power it has. The answer is brake 838 horsepower (850 ps/625 kW) and 737 pound-feet (1,000 Nm) of torque. Back then, Mansory claimed that its super truck can reach 62 mph (100 kph) in a whopping 2.5 seconds, which makes it just as fast as the Lamborghini Revuelto, which is the Raging Bull’s new flagship supercar.

We’d take the performance with a pinch of salt if we were you, as if it is correct, then it means that the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Star Trooper Pickup Edition Mansory x Philipp Plein is actually two seconds faster than the standard range-topping G-Wagen from the Affalterbach brand’s portfolio. This one can reach 62 mph in 4.5 seconds, aided by the 577 bhp (430 kW/585 ps) and 627 pound-foot (850 Nm) of torque bi-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine.

The two-seater you can see pictured above in the gallery is said to have the equivalent of around 840 miles (1,350 km) under its belt and a first registration that dates back to September of 2023. Therefore, it may be a little over two years old, but it is still a brand-new vehicle. The model is said to meet the Euro 6d-TEMP emission regulations, and if you wanted to know how much it returns, then the ad also reveals the answer to this question: 18 mpg US (13.1 l/100 km).

As we already told you, only seven of these ever saw the light of day, and the pictured example is searching for a new home as we speak. It is in stock at Hollmann International, which can ship it anywhere in the world for an extra fee. But how much does something like this cost? For the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Star Trooper Pickup Edition Mansory x Philipp Plein, you are looking at a whopping €951,881, including tax. This comes out to a little over $1.1 million at the current exchange rate.

That kind of money could otherwise get you not one but more than five brand new Mercedes-AMG G 63 vehicles in the United States of America, where the latest iteration starts at $195,500, excluding destination. The base Mercedes-Benz G 550 (G 500 overseas) has an MSRP of $153,900 attached to it, and the G 580 with EQ Technology, aka the EV, can be ordered from $163,200. If you are interested in the pictured Mansory, you should check out the ad here. But do you actually like it that much?
