The Carlex Himalaya „Diamond” One of One bathed in the golden rays of dawn, where the morning light dances across a haze of diamond dust, unveiling a vision of timeless majesty.
Carlex Design decided to revisit the Himalaya Diamond a few days after its official premiere, and after all, why wouldn’t it? It is one stunning take on the modern Mercedes-AMG G 63 that deserves a spot under the virtual spotlight.
In this case, the images that the Polish tuner recently released on social media do not show the s3xy off-roader in the studio, but in the open, at dusk, and we have one complain about the whole thing: not enough images.
Part of the Himalaya Collection, which will also include the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover, Ferrari Purosangue, Aston Martin DBX707, and Lamborghini Urus, this Mercedes-AMG G 63 has a two-tone exterior, mixing white and brown. There are several contrasting touches on deck, as well as a new set of retro-styled wheels.
The vehicle has a body kit that comprises the new grille, bumper, side skirts, and other components, and the Carlex Design logo proudly decorates various parts of the exterior. The cabin is where this ride shines even more, as the tuner is famous for crafting exclusive interiors, whose quality often exceeds that of the standard car’s.
In this case, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 in question has modified front seats with extra side bolstering and integrated headrests, wrapped in exotic hide. The cabin has a bi-tone look to it, and we can also see that the sun visors, headliner, and pillars were wrapped in Alcantara. The center console, door cards, dashboard, rear seats, and so on were wrapped in new leather upholstery.
As usual, the tuner’s logo, as well as the ‘Himalaya’ emblem, decorate various components, thus further highlighting the special nature of this project, which, between us, deserves to sit in a museum, as it is probably one of the best-looking Mercedes-AMG G 63s out there, a true work of art, just like that G-Falcon one-of-one build we got the chance to see for ourselves last year.
Power-wise, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 has a famous 4.0L bi-turbo V8. The motor develops 577 brake horsepower (585 ps/430 kW) with no outside intervention, and 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque, enabling 0-62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in just 4.5 seconds, which is very impressive for such a ride. In all likelihood, the Himalaya Diamond does not boast more oomph, as Carlex Design is not exactly famous for applying elbow grease to its projects.
We would love to find out how much money the famous Polish tuner invested into the Himalaya Diamond, and we reckon it is probably as much as a very nice home in most parts of the Western world. It is unknown whether this build already found a new owner or if it is for sale, though one thing is certain: it is eye-watering expensive.
