Some say the Mercedes G-Wagen can rock any exterior color and still look good, and we certainly agree. After all, when was the last time you saw a pink car that wasn’t kitschy?
Actually, you may want to hold that answer for the comments area below. Before scrolling down, let’s talk about the pictured truck—because it is a truck, albeit one with premium amenities, a techy cockpit, and an iconic look.
The first thing that stands out on this Mercedes-AMG G 63 is the pink wrap. You can see part of the wrapping process in the video embedded at the bottom of the page, which came to our attention courtesy of Forgiato’s Instagram account. This vehicle used to be white before receiving the pink wrap, and besides the lively hue, it also features a set of aftermarket wheels.
Sporting a disc-like pattern, they are on the oversized side of things and were wrapped in thin tires in order to fit below the arches. Given that Forgiato shared this short video on social media, we reckon that this company was behind the wheel set despite the Brabus center caps. The famous tuner’s signature can also be seen on the grille, tailgate, and other elements, and it is because it signed the body kit.
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 in question features some carbon fiber add-ons all around. It also has fresh trim on the front fenders, wider wheel arches, a new hood, and a pair of roof attachments. The front one is for the extra lights that turn night into day at the push of a button (or perhaps the flick of a switch), and the rear element is nothing more than a wing.
Nevertheless, despite featuring extra lights, the premium truck won’t venture that far off the lit pat. Well, not on those tires, anyway, as it would get stuck pretty fast. However, swap them for a nice set of M/Ts shod around smaller wheels and quickly see just how potent the latest G-Wagen, with its punchy bi-turbo V8 motor in the AMG G 63 configuration, is off the beaten path.
There is no spare wheel holder attached to the tailgate (or rather the rear door) anymore, and once you step foot inside, you will see that this Mercedes-AMG G 63 mixes white leather upholstery with multiple black elements. It has the common (for modern Mercedes cars) ambient lighting, which was set to pink when the vehicle smiled for the camera and a starlight headliner for more pleasant drives at night.
Surely, a pink G-Wagen wouldn’t be our ride of choice, but we think this one is very cool, especially with the Brabus aftermarket makeover and that nice interior. But what say you?
