Mercedes-AMG G 63 Carlex Havana Vintage Timeless Harmony Of Wool & Braided Leather

The peeps at Carlex Design have been keeping themselves busy recently, and after presenting the Himalaya Diamond, an extremely hot take on the Mercedes-AMG G 63, they have taken yet another G-Wagen to the realms of perfection.

Yep, we are talking about the one pictured above, which is called the Havana Vintage, and you can instantly tell why it was named after Cuba’s capital city upon jumping inside through the open doors, as the new upholstery is hot enough to make you want to light, or at least smell, a cigar.

Carlex Design is worldly famous for its extremely nicely executed interiors, and this Mercedes-AMG G 63 proves it once more that the Polish tuner still rocks the interior customization game like a champ. The Carlex Havana offers a mix of fine leather upholstery with a bit of textile here and there, sprinkled with several metallic accents, and the color of choice when it comes to the cabin of this G-Wagen is brown.

Some extremely discreet Carlex emblems complete the makeover on the inside, but don’t go anywhere yet, as we still have to tell you about the exterior. You see, due to the pinstripe in silver and the bi-tone paint finish, not to mention the extremely fine cabin, this Mercedes-AMG G 63 is the closest thing to a Mercedes-Maybach G-Class that you can get – assuming, of course, that it is for sale and not a special commission.

The upper parts of the body are presented in silver, and the lower sections have an olive look to them, and this mix was also replicated on the new custom spare wheel holder that was attached to the rear door. The rear bumper was chromed, and the shiny look was replicated on other exterior trim, as well as the wheels, which have a vintage look to them.

Unfortunately, Carlex Design only dropped a single picture of the exterior at the time of writing, so we cannot tell you anything about the front fascia. However, we can assume that the front bumper also has a chrome look, and we also believe that the grille is new. It appears that Carlex also left its mark on the side-mounted exhaust tips, as there are now three on each side instead of two, and they have a smaller diameter compared to the OEM ones.

The famous Polish tuner does not give its builds more oomph, and this also applies to the Carlex Havana, as far as we can tell. This means that the premium truck should still have 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque on tap from its bi-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. The standard G 63 takes 4.5 seconds from 0-62 mph (100 kph).
