Same YouTuber who put a GoPro inside a tire of his Mercedes takes it up a notch by filming a burnout inside the rear tire!

GoPro Inside Tire doing a Full Burnout

Mercedes and burnouts. For most people, the two aren’t a match. After all, Mercedes-Benz is about the ultimate in Teutonic luxury. Burnouts, meanwhile, belong to drag racers and hooligans (or, is that hoonigans). ‘Why would anyone sully a Benz with such trash?’ someone would dare ask. Yet, we Mercedes fans have no problem letting it all hang out on the quarter-mile or any given runway.

Or, in this instance, a Chicagoland alleyway. Warped Perception host Matt Mikka is already known for placing a GoPro inside the tire of his Mercedes. This time, he takes it to the next level with the help of his E320 “See Through Car.” We’re talking a big, smokey burnout, filmed from within the smoking tire itself!

“I got the GoPro all mounted in the tire,” said Mikka, “which wasn’t as nearly as easy as it looks. I was having a whole bunch of connection issues, camera overheating. It was not easy. Finally, I got it to work. It’s ready to go. I’m gonna put this tire on the rim, get the wheel mounted to the car, and just go full-send, pedal to the floor. I’m not letting up until the tire blows.”

“I just let down the car,” said Mikka. “We’re all set […] For once, there’s no traffic in the alley — which is really rare. This might be meant to be. Let’s do it.”

After a splash of water on the GoPro tire, Mikka delivers all of the horses of the E320 to tear it all up. From within, the GoPro captures the tire vibrating with every contact with the ground, while it’s all white smokey goodness on the outside.

Mikka jacks up the E320 after popping the tread off the tire, then continues the destruction. Through slow-motion, we see the tread fly around, then off, the tire. Before long, the frayed and shorn tire delivers the grand finale with an explosive pop.

“Look at that!” said Mikka. “The tire blew– there was so much force– I’m gonna see what happened to the GoPro, but look at that battery!”

The GoPro survived the burnout. However, this was the second burnout for the Mercedes, as the first — shown in an outtake — resulted in a totaled GoPro.

Either way, it’s still pretty cool to see something like a burnout from a whole new perspective. That it was done in a Mercedes just makes it cooler.
