Introducing the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC EV. Our renders, based on camouflaged prototype photos provided by our spy photography expert @wilcoblok, boast a 75% accuracy rating. As the current design language at Mercedes feels a bit bland, we took some creative liberties to make the render a bit more attractive.

Mercedes-Benz is currently doing a lot of quirky things. They’re recreating the 1980s with help from their G-Class ‘Edition Stronger Than the 1980s’ but also looking into the future with an ugly portal called Vision V concept. However, we’re mostly interested in what happens in between.
Sure, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class that goes retro with plaid seats and vintage green paint is pretty cool – it evokes the early styling of the Gelandewagen but with thoroughly modern equipment underneath. The Vision V, if you can get past the really ugly styling, is very interesting, too, because it’s a sign of things to come from the luxury German automaker.
Alas, what’s in between is arguably even more important – because Mercedes-Benz is focused on bringing even more electrification to the party. So, the latest CLA first debuted in EQ all-electric form, and the latest teaser brings us a step closer to the moment when the Porsche Taycan will fear for its life due to the arrival of the new AMG electric super-sedan.
The rumor mill, of course, looks forward in time even a step further than Mercedes – and it needs the help of members of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators dwelling across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI. For example, Andrei Avarvarii, the virtual artist behind Avarvarii Automotive Artworks (aka avarvarii on social media), has taken a good, extended look at Mercedes’ plans for the EV family and came up with this GLC!
Working on the camouflaged prototype photos taken by Wilco Blok, the pixel master is 75% confident this is the all-electric variant of the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC compact luxury crossover SUV. According to their information, the Mercedes-Benz GLC EV (aka with EQ Technology) will arrive in front of a live audience at the IAA Auto Show in Munich this September, and sales will kick off in early 2026.
The model is set to boast the dedicated MB.EA electric architecture, so it doesn’t have much to do with the ICE-powered GLC, and thanks to a big 94.5 kWh battery pack, it could boast an impressive EPA range of more than 300 miles on a charge. Even better, the platform is supposedly ready for 800-volt charging, adding electrons at up to 320 kW.
Slightly larger than its gas-powered counterpart, the Mercedes GLC EV will have more space in the rear for the passengers and cargo, a flat floor, and a panoramic glass roof, plus an estimated starting price of over $65k or €60k and £52k. As for performance, the top dual-motor version with eAWD could boast approximately 483 horsepower, “paired with a two-speed transmission for seamless acceleration” in every road condition. So, what do you think? Yay or nay?
