Mercedes-AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept The Erebos X

The Erebos X 835 bhp @7000 rpm Twin Turbo V8 Gross Vehicle weight of 2718 lbs. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds 202 mph top speed. Only 10 to be produced.

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning the incredible Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept, you will be delighted to know a US-based company has created a bespoke supercar that shares a strong resemblance with the German design study.

The Erebos X, as it is known, is the work of the well-known Parker Brothers Concepts, a specialist shop based in Florida that makes futuristic motorcycles, movie cars, and everything in between. While this looks like yet another flamboyant body kit, the Erebos X looks like it has what it takes to fight the established supercar brands.

Under that lengthy hood, you’ll find a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 835 horsepower. Couple that with the lowly claimed vehicle weight of 2,718 pounds, and it should come as no surprise that the Erebos X can hit 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The top speed is pegged at a respectable 202 mph.

While it has many of the Vision Gran Turismo’s design traits, it’s not a lazy rip-off.

The long, elegant hood, slim headlights, and large grille are very similar to the Benz, but from the rear, the Erebos X is very distinctive.

Whereas the Mercedes – which was designed exclusively for the Gran Turismo series – has a sleek rear end that tapers off towards the end, the custom supercar has an aggressive rear wing and a unique rear light cluster that reminds us of the exquisite lighting details seen on the Bugatti Divo. The grey exterior is relatively subtle and has been paired with green/black aerodisc-style wheels.

The lime green interior color scheme may not be to everyone’s taste, but it’s certainly eye-catching. Steering duties are done with a controversial yoke-style wheel.

Parker Brothers Concepts has made no mention of what underpins its unique creation, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an older-generation AMG GT hiding beneath the bespoke bodywork.

If that’s the case, expect the twin-turbo V8 to be the brand’s 4.0-liter M178 engine, made stronger with a few modifications.

Looking at the interior, we can see traces of older Mercedes dashboard architecture, particularly the iconic SLS AMG, which featured a cascading dashboard that flowed into the center console. The gullwing doors also suggest the Erebos X is at least partly inspired by or perhaps even based on AMG’s first modern supercar.

The Vision Gran Turismo later made an appearance in 2017’s Justice League, serving as the preferred mode of transport for Bruce Wayne (that’s Batman, in case you’re not sure). Just 10 Erebos X supercars will be made – and they don’t come cheap. One example is up for sale on James Edition, and even though it’s a drivable prototype, it’s selling for $1.5 million – which is a lot of money for a little-known supercar.
