Performmaster is celebrating Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with the launch of its new C63 V8 Final Edition.

Mercedes-Benz’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, produced in M176, M177, and M178 guises, has been in production since 2015 and powered a multitude of Mercedes models. These include non-AMG badged models such as the S 650 Coupe and Cabriolet, GLE 580, G 500, and Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4Matic but it is most famous for its presence in the C 63, E 63, S 63, GT 63, G 63, GLC 63, GLE 63, GLS 63, and all AMG GT models. It’s even used by the Aston Martin Vantage and DBX.

Unfortunately, the curtain is closing on this engine and the next-generation C 63 will ditch it in favor of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and an electric motor. To celebrate the V8, Performmaster has unveiled its final variant of the W205-generation C63.

The tuner immediately turned its attention to the powertrain of the Mercedes, tweaking the V8 so it now pumps out 612 hp and 620 lb-ft (840 Nm) of torque, a significant gain of 102 hp and 103 lb-ft (140 Nm) of the standard C 63 S. This added grunt helps the car hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds or 0.2 seconds quicker than the standard car. It will also top out at an impressive 192 mph (310 km/h).

A handful of exterior changes have also been made to the sedan. For example, the car now rocks an extended front splitter with aerodynamic flics, a tweaked front grille, distinctive side skirts, a pronounced diffuser, and a lip spoiler. All of these parts are made from lightweight carbon fiber.

Mercedes-AMG has not yet provided a date for when it will completely ditch its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 but it likely won’t stick around for more than a few more years.
