It’s been a couple of weeks since Mercedes released the first teaser of the all-new GLC with EQ Technology, and right now, the battery-electric crossover is smiling from behind the CGI curtain with zero camouflage on its body.

Sketched out by @lars_o_saeltzer and shared on social media over the weekend, the model tries to stay true to the real thing, with the obvious blank spot filling here and there. The grille is actually identical, and we think the star-studded headlights are not far off from the real thing. There is a ‘trust me, bro’ approach when it comes to the front bumper.
But what about the back end? Well, it should be about the same, up to a point. This rendered Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology features a set of teardrop-shaped taillights and has a clean tailgate. The license plate sits in a recess in the new bumper, which features a pair of reflectors on the sides and a diffuser-like component attached to it that is not on the aggressive side of things for one reason: it is a Benz and not an AMG.
The wheels look like something that would come from the three-pointed star brand’s portfolio, and speaking of the latter, the corporate logo decorates them, as well as the grille and the tailgate. The new grille, made to evoke the chromed ones used in Mercedes’ cars in most of the last century, has a shiny look to it, and is partially closed off, as this is an electric crossover.

The imagined car is presented in blue with lots of black touches, including the cladding on the lower parts of the body, the side window surrounds, the roof rails, and so on. It also sports rear privacy windows and has a generous ground clearance for a premium compact electric crossover that should be a decent daily driver, hopefully with not that many reliability issues (ahem, modern Mercedes problem here!).
Set to take on the likes of the BMW iX3 and the Porsche Macan Electric, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology should launch in the 400 4Matic configuration, with 483 brake horsepower (489 ps/360 kW) on tap. It should support charging at over 320 kW, so adding 260 km (162 miles) of range will take around ten minutes.
Mercedes already announced when this model is due, and that is next month. The first-ever Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology will be presented at the IAA Mobility in Munich, Germany, on September 7, 2027. We expect the automaker to release more teasers to build up the hype for its unveiling. The order books should open shortly after the premiere, and we expect deliveries to start before the end of 2025 or maybe in early 2026.
