Mercedes now has another electrified model in its portfolio in Australia, as it just introduced the new GLC 350 e 4Matic SUV with EQ hybrid technology. It is a plug-in hybrid premium compact crossover that has an impressive EV range, albeit on the very optimistic NEDC test cycle.

According to the three-pointed star brand, this model can drive 132 kilometers (82 miles) and can reach up to 140 kph (87 mph) on zero emissions. It combines a gasoline burner with four cylinders and an electric motor to develop a total system output of 230 kilowatts (313 ps/308 hp) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. The drive programs include Electric, Battery Level, and Hybrid.

The three-pointed star company says that the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350 e can be charged at up to 11 kW as standard and up to 55 kW as an option. In the latter case, a 0-80 percent recharge takes around 20 minutes. Speaking of options, customers can order it with the Sport Package that adds the AMG Line exterior and interior details. The list includes body color-painted wheel arch liners, sports seats, Nappa leather upholstery, and a sports steering wheel.

Besides these, the aforementioned package also adds large brake discs at the front and bigger 20-inch alloys. With the Sport Package installed, customers can also opt for the Night Package, with its high-gloss black trim and black 20-inch wheels. The Plus Package is another available bundle that adds noise-insulating acoustic windows, digital light with adaptive high beam assist plus, driving assistance package, Burmester sound system, Guard 360, and MBUX navigation system with augmented reality.

But what about the standard gizmos, you ask? Well, these include stuff such as the Avantgarde exterior styling with metallic paint finishes, rear privacy windows, and an aluminum look for the side steps. That’s not all, as it also comprises ambient lighting, a head-up display, keyless go, and heated front seats with memory setting and lumbar support.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, alongside the wireless charging pad for (compatible) smartphones, fingerprint scanner, backlit door sills, comprehensive interior lighting system, chrome interior package, etc. Moreover, the plug-in hybrid premium compact crossover also benefits from self-leveling suspension on the rear axle so that the ride height remains consistent regardless of the cargo load.

Mercedes has officially opened the ordered books for the 2026 GLC 350 e 4Matic SUV in the Land Down Under. The model has an MRLP of AU$99,900 locally, which translates to US$65,155 at today’s exchange rate. The Sport Package is a AU$6,000 (US$3,915) extra, and for the Night Package and Plus Package, customers must fork out an extra AU$1,300 (US$850) and AU$7,600 (US$4,955), respectively. The GLC 350 e starts at $60,300 (AU$92,435) in our market.
