Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series may be a ten-year-old car. But it does not look like one and it certainly does not behave like one. And here is the proof.

$1,000,000 Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series on the AUTOBAHN!

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series saw the light of day in 2013. It came with a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine that was capable of throwing to the rear axle 622 horsepower (631 PS) and 468 lb-ft (635 Nm) of torque through a seven-speed dual-clutch sports transmission. The car sits 10 mm closer to the tarmac compared to the regular SLS AMG due to a redesigned suspension.

Mercedes put in so much carbon fiber in this car that they managed to drop the weight by 154 lb (70 kg). It tipped the scale at 3,415 pounds (1,549 kilograms).

The first thing that will shock you is the way the car looks. Painted in white with a contrasting tail wing, mirror cases, air vents, and 10-spoke light alloy wheels, the model shows up with one of its gullwing doors sprung open. That is a sight to behold. There are designo leather and Alcantara onboard, with contrasting red accents on the dashboard. The seatbelts display the same eye-catching red, while the bucket seats are 15 kilograms lighter than the AMG ones. There is a red 12 o’clock marking on the steering wheel, there is carbon fiber on the center console and everything looks as if the SLS has just rolled off the assembly line.

It took 3.6 seconds to go from zero to hero (0-62 mph or 0-100 km/h). And the car could hit a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h). But does it still have it today? AutoTopNL comes through with a video that shows the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series running free on a no-speed-limit sector of the German Autobahn.

The engine roars to life and the car heads to the land of freedom: the autobahn. After several attempts, the needle of the speedometer hits 305 km/h (190 mph). Remember, we’re dealing with a ten-year-old sports car here!
