W223 is the seventh generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class full-size luxury sedan series, and it’s been in production since 2020. As such, one might say that it’s starting to grow a bit long in the tooth. But would you dare to do that after seeing this example?
The W223 iteration was introduced on the second-generation Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform and still features a V12 under the hood, though only in limited quantities. With a classic look on the outside and a highly advanced tech-savvy interior design, the S-Class appeals to many – on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. As for keeping it fresh, the German company opted to offer an expansive choice that could potentially fit the vision of any customer.
As such, there are long-wheelbase models for China, various gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrid engines, plus a lot of derived models. The latter includes the traditional Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance high-performance model with the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 aided by an electric motor and a battery for a 791-hp plug-in hybrid setup. Then there’s also the bulletproof Mercedes-Benz S 680 Guard for heads of state and generally shady individuals, along with the Mercedes-Maybach flagship.
The latter is not alone, though, as it has a triumvirate of powertrain options – S 580 e plug-in hybrid with RWD and 503 combined hp, S 580 with mild hybrid (496 plus 20 hp), as well as the mighty S 680 rocking the M279 E60 LA V12 bi-turbo engine and no less than 603 elegant horsepower. Most likely, the Maybach S-Class we are about to show you belongs in the latter category – and it’s also a custom build. Well, Miami, Florida-based Vossen has a vast portfolio of aftermarket wheels, but they don’t usually get sent to outlets that work with Maybach S-Class models, frankly.
This is a cool exception, though, judging by the serene green-and-gray dual-tone body combination and the lowering treatment done on a set of new Vossen LC3-11T aftermarket wheels. The new series kicks off at $2,400 for each wheel and can be had in 19 to 24-inch diameters with 8.5″ to 13″ widths and with no less than 48 different finishes – on this occasion, the builder applied a Brushed Gloss Clear look to the aftermarket wheels mix and matched with the ritzy Maybach ensemble.
So, what do you think? By the way, if a Mercedes-Maybach is not your Vossen treat, we’ve also seen a Mercedes-AMG G 63 rocking the one-piece Vossen GEN-06 full-face wheels finished with a Satin Black Center and a Gloss Clear outer barrel. Or there’s also a serene Zandvoort Blue G 87 BMW M2 packing a set of Vossen S21-02s finished in Brushed Patina Gold – just to keep all the alternatives in the German area.
