2025 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Brabus 850 Gets In Touch With Its Purple Side

BRABUS 850 based on the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 – pure power with a stunning purple interior.

Most luxury cars are business inside and out, yet every once in a while, we stumble across one that’s party on the inside. Case in point, meet one bold Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, which recently paid a visit to Brabus for a few special aftermarket upgrades.

Christened the Brabus 850, the three-pointed star brand’s flagship sedan features an all-black look with deleted chrome elements. The wheels are new and significantly bigger than the ones equipping the standard Mercedes-Maybach S 680. We can also see a discreet apron at the front, a new diffuser at the rear, and a ducktail spoiler resting on the trunk lid.

The extras were made of carbon fiber and give this luxury four-door model a sportier vibe. Just in case you must know what tuner is behind this project, you will see the Brabus logo sitting above the left taillight and the 850 badge on the right-hand side of the trunk lid. The latter clearly references the enhanced power, as this Maybach may still be all about luxury, but it’s significantly punchier than its stock self.

With a few oily revisions, the tuner has managed to obtain 850 metric horsepower, which is 838 brake horsepower in old money or 625 kilowatts. The car’s thrust is rated at 811 pound-foot of torque, which translates to 1,100 Nm, and with everything up and running, this modified Mercedes-Maybach S-Class takes just 4.1 seconds to sprint to sixty-two mph (100 kph).

That may not tell you much, but the stock S 680 is four-tenths of a second faster and (still) tops out at 155 mph (250 kph). Powering it is a 6.0L V12 with dual turbos, which is part of a dying breed, especially in this day and age when a good chunk of modern vehicles feature some form of electrification. The mighty V12 motor is good for 664 pound-foot (900 Nm) of torque and 621 horsepower (630 ps/463 kW).

We saved the most eye-catching mod for last. This ultra-pricey Maybach features a reupholstered cockpit, and it’s not in a traditional hue that one may expect to find in a luxury vehicle but a lively one. Purple dominates the cabin, and you can see it in the form of high-end leather upholstery, often with diamond quilting, which covers the seats, part of the dashboard panel, steering wheel, center console, door cards, headliner, and so on.

Brabus also gave it some carbon fiber trim scattered throughout the interior to tie the refreshed cockpit to the sinister-looking exterior. This wouldn’t normally be our first choice for a Mercedes, especially a Maybach, but the finished car does not look half bad. Honestly, we’d be proud to own it, and speaking of that, you should know that the tuner can give yours a similar makeover. But would you really want to roll around in a black Maybach with a purple interior?
