Brabus has developed a super Mercedes G-Class. Based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 W 465, the Brabus XL 800 develops 800 PS and 1000 Nm and has a ground clearance bigger than the Mercedes G 500 4×4 Squared. Price: 750,613 euros, almost four times more than the AMG G 63.

The Brabus XL 800 is not just a more powerful version of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 but a super off-roader that combines the exceptional off-road capabilities of the Mercedes G 500 4×4 squared with dynamic performance far superior to the AMG G 63.

First, the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 twin-turbo engine features two high-performance turbochargers with special core assemblies, reinforced axial bearings, and larger compressor units. Also, the boost pressure has been increased to 1.6 bar and Brabus has programmed new maps for injection and ignition. The 9-speed automatic transmission allows manual gear changes via Brabus carbon paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

Second, the Brabus XL 800 has an impressive ground clearance of 47 cm (18.5 in), 2 cm more than the G 500 4×4 squared. To achieve this ground clearance, the Brabus XL 800 uses portal axles and to this end, the front independent suspension is all-new while the rear axle is rigid but also features numerous redesigned parts for the portal axle design, which were milled from high-strength billet aluminum. These include a reinforced axle housing and all suspension links. Brabus has developed a special version of the Brabus Ride Control adaptive suspension specifically for this heavy-duty off-road chassis, and the damping rate has been adapted for the high ground clearance offered by the portal axles.

The Brabus XL800 runs on huge 22-inch wheels shod with 325/55 R22 off-road tires. The exterior of the Brabus XL800 impresses with the Widestar concept exterior with heavily flared wheel fenders made from exposed carbon fiber. The front and rear bumpers are also made of carbon fiber whose texture has been left exposed. The front bumper also incorporates a winch with a 4,500 kg (9,921 lbs) payload. The robust Brabus brush guard is also part of the broad Adventure range of the luxury manufactory from Bottrop.

Exposed carbon fiber surrounds the radiator grille, and a huge air intake also made of carbon fiber is located above the engine hood. The exposed-structure carbon wind deflector above the windshield is yet another visual statement. Its integral, particularly powerful LED lights help the driver to optimally see the terrain and any appearing obstacles in the dark. In addition, the Brabus Carbon Package includes exposed-structure carbon attachments behind the front and rear wheel arches, rub strips and side mirror covers on both sides of the vehicle.

Thanks to the high ground clearance, for easier boarding, Brabus offers two power-retractable steps. The rear doors also have special hinges that allow them to open at a 90-degree angle.

The interior is ultra-luxurious with “Double Cube” quilting on the inner sections of the door panels, the floor mats, the leather center strip in the Dinamica headliner, and the center sections of the seats. The seat surfaces with this pattern are additionally perforated with high precision. Inside, exposed carbon fiber is present on the center console, instrument panel, and door panels, and even the sun visors are made of carbon fiber.

Rear passengers are informed about speed and lateral acceleration by two instruments located on the roof.

The Brabus XL 800 accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 4.6 seconds and top speed is limited to 210 kph thanks to the high ground clearance. The Brabus XL 800 is priced at 630,767 euros plus VAT (750,613 euros in Germany), while a Mercedes-AMG G 63 has a price of 191,233 euros including VAT.
