Mercedes-Benz leads the charge on numerous fronts as the entire car industry starts the switchover to electric vehicles. The German manufacturer plans to go all-electric by 2030, and in the same breath hopes to make over $1 billion doing so.

As part of this ambitious crusade for climate change and capitalism, Merc has been launching some awesome vehicles, including the Mercedes-Benz EQS and EQA SUV. These German electric beauties are yet to land in the US, but the Mercedes EQS 450+ has just gone on sale in the UK at a price that will bring tears to the eyes of even the most environmentally conscious rich people.

Currently, the only version of this electric sedan on sale in the United Kingdom is the EQS 450+ AMG Line, a mid-range model which comes standard with an AMG Line body kit, 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic roof, and interior features such as a 12.3-inch instrument display, a standard Driver Assistance package, and navigation. In this configuration you can expect to fork over $138,496, if converted to USD.

The AMG Line Premium costs $148,128 and adds features like a larger 21-inch AMG wheels, active ambient lighting, a surround-view camera system, Driving Assistance Plus and a premium Burmester sound system. The EQS 450+ AMG Line Premium Plus adds features such as a head-up display, gesture control and parking assist for a grand total of $157,834.

The 450+ Exclusive Luxury matches the AMG Line Premium Plus for cost but includes multi-contour massage seats finished in Nappa leather. For those who want to delve even further into the options list, the MBUX Hyperscreen will set you back an incredible $11,067, while the Rear Luxury Lounge package goes for $5,531.

At least the EQS offers some decent performance figures: with 329 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque on offer, this electric German can sprint to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. Local pricing is yet to be announced, but judging by these numbers, US fans are in for a rough time.
