Limited to just 15 cars, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe Night Edition is headed to Australia with a manufacturer’s recommended list price of AU$294,200 (US$228,132) and deliveries kicking off in the third quarter of the year.
Available in Obsidian Black, Selenite Grey or Graphite Grey Magno exterior colors, it features the AMG specific grille with dark chrome vertical slats, a carbon fiber roof with dark tinted sides and headlamps with black design elements. Equipped with the AMG Exterior Night Package, the special edition sits on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear matte black light alloy wheels and wears the AMG logo in white on the black brake calipers.
The cockpit has a similar theme, with the AMG Interior Night Package, Nappa leather upholstery, a Dinamica microfiber steering wheel and headliner, AMG Performance seats with diamond-pattern quilting, piano lacquer accents and tinted rear windows.
A ‘Night Edition’ badge adorns the center console, joined by a generous array of gear such as the dual-zone climate control, AMG instrument cluster, Burmester premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, and heated and electrically adjustable seats with memory function. As for safety gear, Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Pre-Safe and reversing camera, as well as eight airbags, are all standard.
The 2021 GT Coupe Night Edition’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, which is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, pumps out 390 kW (530 PS / 523 HP) and 670 Nm (494 lb-ft) of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 3.8 seconds.
Stopping power is provided by the high-performance composite braking system, and the car is also equipped with adaptive suspension, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, a retractable rear spoiler, a drive selector with ‘Race’ mode and a new 12-volt lithium-ion battery.
