Mercedes-Benz GLE Receives The Highest Safety Rating From Euro NCAP

Mercedes-Benz GLE gets top score at the new Euro NCAP highway assist tests. The model thus ranks among the safest in the world at high speeds.
 

Mercedes-Benz GLE was one of the ten new models tested by Euro NCAP in terms of highway assistance systems. Its Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC with Active Steering Assist scored „VERY GOOD”.
 
Euro NCAP representatives state that the best systems are those that provide the ideal combination between the assistance they offer and the level they keep the driver engaged. Therefore, the technology promotes co-operative driving, unlike others that seem to be more authoritarian. The scores that the safety tests organization awards the models are Entry, Moderate, Good and Very good.
 
The Euro NCAP experts tested the Assistance competence of the premium SUV and awarded it with a total of 78%. Consumer information, System Status and Driving Collaboration turned out Good, while the Driver Monitoring was considered marginal.
 
Meanwhile, Speed assistance and Steering assistance also performed well in the test, with an adequate performance of the Adaptive Cruise Control Performance.
 
The Mercedes-Benz GLE got an 84% score in terms of Safety Backup. The organization noted System Failure, Unresponsive Driver Intervention and Collision Avoidance with Good.
 
The greatest disappointment of the testing session that Euro NCAP carried out was though the Tesla Model 3. The electric compact sedan had to settle for “Moderate”. The experts in safety considered that the Autopilot System would not keep the driver engaged throughout driving and
