The most powerful version of the Mercedes EQE electric SUV is now available to order. The top model Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ costs 129,662.40 euro ($138,705) and is a rival to the BMW iX M60.
Mercedes has announced the price for the most powerful EQE SUV. The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ SUV is available from 129,662.40 euro ($138,705) and comes with a wealth of standard equipment including AMG Ride Control+ adaptive air suspension, 21-inch wheels, AMG Active Ride Control active stabilized bars, Digital Light headlights, AMG Performance steering wheel and AMG Sound Experience.
The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ is equipped with two electric motors, AMG Performance 4Matic+ electric all-wheel drive and is available in two versions:
– Basic version with 625 ps/616 hp and 950 Nm/701 lb-ft
– with the AMG Dynamic Plus package (4,760 euro/$5,092) with 687 ps/677 hp and 1000 Nm/737 lb-ft.
The AMG Dynamic Plus package version includes an increased top speed of 240 km/h instead of 220 km/h, AMG Sound Experience Performance, and if temperature and battery charge level allow, power and torque are increased from 625 to 687 ps (616 to 677 hp) and from 950 to 1000 Nm (701 to 737 lb-ft) for Race Start. In this case, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds.
The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ runs on 20-inch wheels and optional 21-inch (1,130.50 euro/$1,209) or 22-inch (2,439.50 euro/$2,609) wheels can be ordered. The cheapest Burmester 3D Surround audio system costs 773.50 euro ($827) and AMG Nappa leather upholstery in black/space grey costs 2,701.30 euro ($2,889).
Unlike the Mercedes EQS/EQS SUV, none of the EQE/EQE SUV models has the Hyperscreen screen standard. It costs an optional 8,568 euro ($9,165). Ceramic brakes can also be ordered for 4,998 euro ($5,346).
The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ is a direct rival to the BMW iX M60 which has similar performance. With 619 ps/610 hp and 1015 Nm/749 lb-ft, the M version of the BMW iX accelerates from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 kph.
But the big advantage of the BMW iX M60 is its much longer WLTP range of 564 km/350 miles compared to only 470 km/292 miles in the Mercedes. The iX’s longer range is explained by its larger battery capacity of 105.2 kWh net compared to 90.6 kWh in the Mercedes.
But despite the bigger and heavier battery, the BMW iX M60 is slightly lighter than the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ weighing 2,659 kg/5,862 lbs compared to 2,690 kg/5,930 lbs for the Mercedes. BMW uses some carbon-fiber body components that have saved significant kilograms.
In contrast, the BMW iX M60 is much more expensive costing 143,100 euro ($153,080) compared to 129,662 euro ($138,705) for the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+. BMW compensates the higher price with better standard equipment with 21-inch wheels, laser headlights, Bowers&Wilkins Surround sound system, ventilated multi-contour front seats, OS 8.5 multimedia system with navigation, adaptive air suspension, and integral steering.
