Mercedes-AMG G 63 HG 63 EVOLUTION By HOFELE

Do you know the second-generation Mercedes-Benz G-Class is five years old? You better believe it, as the assembly commenced at the Magna Steyr factory in Graz, Austria, back in 2018. And if you think there are not that many differences over its iconic predecessor, then you’re obviously wrong, as it is new from the ground up.
 

Since 2018, when it hit production, we’ve seen countless aftermarket takes on it. Be it more power, larger wheels, retuned suspensions, and wide body kits, name it, and it has been done. One of the latest aftermarket takes on it has Hofele behind it and comprises a makeover on the outside, a reupholstered cabin with a luxury touch, and probably more power available via the throttle.
 
Besides the sandy hue, which makes it look like a military vehicle dressed for the desert, it sports wheel arch extensions. The front bumper was chopped and rearranged to fit the widebody design and features integrated DRLs. The grille no longer has any chrome on it and is now decorated by the tuner’s logo instead of the three-pointed star emblem. The chrome-delete package continues further back, where we can also see a roof attachment with incorporated LED lights, electric running boards, a tweaked rear bumper, and Y-spoke wheels with a larger diameter than the stock ones.
 

You certainly won’t mistake it for a military ride upon opening the door, as it has a completely reupholstered cabin with an emphasis on luxury. White leather was wrapped around the door cards, seats, steering wheel, dashboard panel, center console, and other components. We can also see way more carbon fiber, the usual ambient lighting, and a starlight headliner that contributes to its posh look. Unlike one of Hofele’s previous takes on the G-Wagen, which featured seating for six, this one can still sit five, two at the front and three on the rear bench. And while white may not be everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to the upholstery, it certainly suits this G 63, doesn’t it?
 
The social media post that shared these images online recently did not say anything about the engine. Therefore, we cannot be sure if it was tuned or not. But even without any outside intervention, you are still looking at 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque and 577 horsepower (585 ps/430 kW). That’s how much the 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine produces straight from the factory. A stock new-gen Mercedes-AMG G 63 can deal with the zero to sixty-two miles per hour (0 to 100 kph) sprint in just 4.5 seconds, which is highly impressive for such a big boy that has the aerodynamics of a small shed and can keep going up to 137 mph (220 kph).
