Mercedes-AMG has added a new special edition of the C63 S to its roster, dubbed the “F1 Edition”. The Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance was introduced last month as the flagship of the C-Class range, leaving behind the thunderous V8 days as it switched to a cutting-edge plug-in hybrid turbo four-cylinder powertrain. For a limited period of one year after the market launch, Mercedes will be offering the “F1 Edition” special, featuring motorsport-inspired accents inside-out.

The Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance “F1 Edition” is finished in Manufactur Alpine Grey Uni that fades to black on the lower portion of to body, leading to the red accents on the aero components. The livery is combined with a set of 20-inch AMG forged wheels finished in matte black with red rim flanges.

The special edition comes standard with the AMG Aerodynamics package, including the more prominent front splitter, a lip spoiler on the trunk, an extra level to the diffuser, and slightly different side moldings. Additionally, the F1 Edition gets the AMG Night Package I and II, which add a number of high-gloss black accents, and black chrome finish for the grille, quad exhaust pipes, and badges. Another special detail is the silver-chrome AMG fuel filler cap. Besides the sedan, the “F1 Edition” can also be combined with the more practical Estate bodystyle.

Inside we find an AMG Performance steering wheel and seats upholstered in black Nappa leather with red stitching, red seatbelts, red-themed carbon trim on the dashboard, an “Edition” badge, illuminated scuff plates, and AMG floor mats with the F1 logo. A custom AMG Indoor Car Cover that is also bearing the F1 logo is also included.

There are no mechanical changes over the standard C63 S, which means that the plug-in hybrid setup still produces a combined 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS) and 1,020 Nm (752 lb-ft) of torque from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and a rear-mounted electric motor. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through the rear-biased 4Matic+ system and a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Mercedes-AMG might have lost the latest F1 constructors’ title to Red Bull, but with eight consecutive titles between 2014 and 2021, it is nothing short of a leading force. The automaker has every right to roll out F1-themed models, taking inspiration from the silver arrows. There is no word on pricing for the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance “F1 Edition” but we guess it definitely sounds like the most expensive C-Class money can buy right now.
