Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 in a luxurious shade with elegant golden accents — “DELUXE EDITION” The ultimate embodiment of status and style. Every detail shines with elegance, every line symbolizes refined power and flawless taste.

Despite being the sportiest Maybach ever created, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series does not get that much attention from the online kingdom, so one pixel artist decided to up the ante by virtually creating a more vibrant variant of the car that has been unofficially christened the Deluxe Edition.

The name behind these renderings is @ildar_project on Instagram and the vehicle in question looks like something you’d see in a particular fashion designer’s window. The car has a brown paint finish, a custom pattern on that long hood, and multiple gold accents. The latter color can be seen on the trim decorating the front and rear bumpers, on the imposing grille, side skirts, fender trim, door handles, hood, and front windscreen surround.

If that’s not enough gold to quench your thirst for this hue, then you should also know that the wheels, which are on the custom side of things, also have some gold touches on them, though the color that dominates them is red. The alloys are much larger than the OEM offering, and from what we can tell, this imagined Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series sits closer to the ground, and we reckon an adjustable air suspension is likely part of the digital makeover.

Despite using the ‘680’ numbers in its name, which hint at a V12 engine, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is actually offered with a V8 engine. The 4.0-liter bi-turbo unit produces 577 bhp (430 kW/585 ps) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, which makes it equally punchy to the Mercedes-AMG SL 63. The open-top Maybach needs around 4.0 seconds to reach 60 mph (97 kph), some half a second slower than the SL 63, and has a maximum speed of 161 mph (259 kph).

Since we mentioned the V12 powertrain, we should also tell you that the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 flagship sedan boasts a bi-turbo 6.0-liter V12 that churns out 621 bhp (463 kW/630 ps) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. It needs 4.5 seconds to sprint to 60 mph, and pricing for the latest model year is set at $244,400 (MSRP) in our market. The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series kicks off at $224,900, excluding destination and dealer fees, as well as any options one may be tempted to tick on the list.

Now, as you suspect, the three-pointed star brand’s luxury division does not intend to launch a Deluxe Edition version of the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, so this one will continue to live its life in Fantasy Land, surrounded by countless other vehicles that will never see the light of day. However, assuming the automaker would give it a shot, would you blow a lot of money on it?
