The Power of a Vision. The BRABUS Rocket GTS – 1,000 hp of precision meets the bold elegance of a carbon-crafted shooting brake. A Masterpiece of engineering and design, built to redefine speed, style, and exclusivity.

It was one year ago when Brabus took the tuning world by storm with an extreme project dubbed the Rocket GTS. The model in question is basically a coachbuilt special with new-age amenities, a lot of oomph, and a price tag that falls into the seven-digit realm.
The model in question is pretty much a Mercedes Clown Shoe. The Shooting Brake builds on the Mercedes-AMG SL and features lots of carbon fiber, several custom body panels that were built from nothing, a very bold body kit with extended fenders, aggressive side skirts, a vented hood, sporty air intakes in the front bumper, and a custom back end with a pair of spoilers, a tailgate, a large diffuser, and four round tailpipes.

Brabus’ Rocket GTS was basically bathed in carbon fiber and features the usual logos on the outside. It rides on custom wheels (Brabus Monoblock P Platinum Edition) that may look somewhat exaggerated on certain rides, though due to its aggressive nature, the alloys feel at home here. It also has a flat roofline, and if you think that the extras are there for show and tell purposes only, then you clearly don’t know anything about this tuner, as they said to boost downforce at dizzying speeds.
The active exhaust flaps give it a sonorous presence, and under the hood sits a heavily-upgraded 4.5-liter V8 engine with dual turbos and an electric motor that carries over. The total output is 1,000 metric horsepower (736 kW/986 bhp) and 1,195 pound-feet (1,620 Nm) of torque. It’s worth noting that the thrust has been lowered from 1,342 lb-ft (1,820 Nm) in order to protect the 9-speed automatic transmission.
How does it compare to the standard Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance on which it builds? The latter has ‘only’ 805 brake horsepower (601 kW/816 ps) in total and 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) of torque, and needs just 2.8 seconds to zip to 60 mph (97 kph). The Brabus Rocket GTS is said to be two-tenths of a second faster, and if you are brave enough, you can hit 197 mph (317 kph) in it.

To absolutely no one’s surprise, the car’s interior has also been reworked, and bears Brabus’ signature on pretty much every touchable component, as well as the tuner’s logo on various elements. Such a thing costs €945,762.50, which equals over $1.1 million at today’s exchange rate.
But why dedicate another story to the Brabus Rocket GTS? Because the famous tuner recently released more images of this fabulous machine on social media, and since it is so exciting for a number of different reasons, we decided to share them with you. If money would be the least of your worries, would you spend over one million dollars on such a thing?
