2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Has Never Looked This Good

Mercedes is preparing updates for pretty much its entire lineup, and the Maybach GLS 600 is on the list. We recently wrote about a prototype of the luxury crossover doing its thing at the Nurburgring, and now that tester has lost all camouflage, albeit only virtually for now.

The peeps at Kolesa took a close look at the prototype and created these renderings that basically preview the design of the facelifted model. The biggest difference compared to the outgoing iteration revolves around the headlights and taillights, which have received a star-studded signature, just like other models in the company’s modern portfolio.

As we said before, we are baffled by the fact that it took Mercedes this long to come up with this design feature, which suits all of these vehicles like a glove. That iPhone-like notch at the top of the grille looks the same and still displays the Maybach logo on it, and the three-pointed star emblem is still located on the hood. It is strange to see that the grille carries over without any updates, and the same goes for the bumper, which is identical to the one on the current Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.

Nevertheless, the scooped tester had its entire front fascia under wraps, and as is common with mid-cycle refreshes, we expect the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 to get a new grille and a new bumper. Other than the new taillights, the back end also carries over without any updates on the rendered car, which also features a familiar bi-tone look, mixing black on the lower parts of the body and gold on the upper sections. The wheels, though, are new, and they appear to be slightly larger than before.

It is a common belief among the big outlets that the facelifted Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 will get some significant upgrades on the inside, which will mostly revolve around the screens. Word has it that it might sport an extremely wide pillar-to-pillar display, which may be good news for tech fans, though it will make this model less appealing in a few years from now. We also expect it to have additional tweaks, though it is still unknown what these could be.

Some say that it also may boast a bit more oomph from a slightly upgraded powertrain. The current Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 has 550 brake horsepower (558 ps/410 kW) and 538 pound-feet (730 Nm) of torque to play with, with the peak output and thrust being available at 2,500 and 6,000-6,500 rpm, respectively. From 0 to 60 mph (97 kph), this luxury-focused high-rider needs just 4.8 seconds.

We should find out more about the facelifted Maybach SUV as the testing advances, and this model is expected to debut sometime in 2026. Meanwhile, what’s your take on the visual updates as imagined by the quoted outlet?
