The world’s first. The boldest yet. LARTE Design presents the updated CHARISMA kit for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Facelift (2025), installed in Düsseldorf for a client who wanted nothing less than the extraordinary. Finished with a full carbon styling package and exclusive LARTE forged wheels, this SUV redefines Maybach presence with precision and power. A new splitter, reimagined air intakes, and signature carbon details transform the facelifted GLS 600 into a statement of prestige and individuality. A special thank you to our client in Düsseldorf for the trust and vision — we’re proud to make it reality.

If you want a new-age luxury SUV (crossover), then the usual offerings revolve around the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and the Bentley Bentayga. However, there are other proposals out there, like Land Rover’s Range Rover, which basically invented this segment many decades ago.

Depending on whom you ask, you will get different answers as to which is the best luxury SUV that money can currently buy. Some would vouch for the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which, in our humble opinion, holds the top spot in this segment. Others would tell you that the VW Touareg-based Bentley Bentayga is the one to go for, and some enthusiasts would always pick up a Mercedes-Benz GLS-based Maybach GLS 600, likely remembering the old days when Maybachs (and Mercedes cars) were truly spectacular and built to last.

Some of those who come from old money would always pick up a Range Rover in its top specification and be done with it. As mentioned above, this is the model that started the whole premium high-riding craze, with the original that dates back to the 1970s. Actually, the first one came out in 1969, featuring a body-on-frame construction and using the same nuts and bolts as the era’s Land Rover Discovery. The original Range Rover was followed by four more generations, and it has been in the fifth-gen since 2022.

Mind you, it’s not about the iconic Range Rover here, nor the Cullinan, or Bentayga, as what we’re dealing with is a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600. The luxury SUV in question has been visited by the tuning fairy, who installed a new body kit in Dusseldorf, Germany. The tuning fairy’s name is Larte Design, a company that does not tend to step over the OTT line when it comes to its projects, and we think they have nailed it in this case. Well, assuming you’re into sporty-looking luxury SUVs, of course.

Can you spot the differences between this tuned Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 and the stock one? It’s not hard at all, as up front, it features a tweaked grille, a chunky apron attached to the OEM bumper, new side vent surrounds, and a hood that is on the muscular side of things. The fender flares are fatter than the standard ones, so these also came from the same tuner’s portfolio, and so did the side skirts, and probably the side mirror caps.

At the rear, this vehicle has a larger tailgate-mounted wing. It also features a new diffuser with a pair of extra brake lights in the middle. The new tailpipes were inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. We should also note that this Maybach has fewer chrome elements, and that most of the add-ons sport a carbon fiber look. The car rides on new multi-spoke wheels with a bi-tone finish mixing silver and black, and has a gray paint finish.

According to Larte Design, this Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is the first in the world to feature its carbon fiber body kit. The bundle of visual upgrades is called the Charisma, hence the reference in the title, and we have to admit that it is not bad at all. However, if we owned a GLS 600, we would likely keep it simple, ordering it in a bi-tone finish with the standard wheels and keeping it like that. After all, this is the look that suits it best, isn’t it?

Since there is no word about the powertrain, we can safely assume that the V8 engine hasn’t been modified. As a result, it should still deliver 550 bhp (558 ps/410 kW) to the wheels and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. The peak thrust is available at 2,500 rpm, and the output between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 sprints to 60 mph (97 kph) in 4.8 seconds, and that’s more than decent given that it’s a plus-sized model with a focus on luxury.

If you want a more agile GLS, you should order the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, which comes with a 603 hp (612 ps/450 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque 4.0L bi-turbo V8. This model can reach 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. The lesser Benz GLS 580 offers 510 hp (517 ps/380 kW) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque for 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The entry-level Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 completes the sprint in 5.8 seconds, aided by 375 hp (380 ps/280 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm).

For the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, the three-pointed star brand is asking at least $178,450 in the U.S. The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 starts at $151,050. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 580 4Matic has an MSRP of $116,150, and the base GLS 450 4Matic comes from $90,950. Larte hasn’t disclosed the pricing of its bundle of upgrades for the Maybach GLS 600, so if you plan to reach out to them, feel free to drop a comment below and let us know how much it costs.
