Mercedes-Benz has quietly introduced a significantly revised GLS class onto the market. Featuring bolder styling, enhanced luxury and seamless driver integration, the newcomer also gets updated drivetrain technology for unmatched refinement on the move.
 
Hot on the heels of the recent GLE facelift, Benz tells us that its flagship SUV now boasts a design to better befit its premier status. Other markets including the US do not get the 450 d, but rather the $87,000 375 HP 369 lb.-ft 5.8 second 0-60, and 22 mpg turbo gasoline inline-six turbo petrol GLS 450 alongside the $112,000 580.
 
All GLS Models Get a 20 HP 147 lb.-ft Electric Boost
The hand crafted biturbo 4-litre V8 AMG GLS 63 is already available in the US. At $145, the 850 603 HP 627 lb.-ft monster is good for 4.1 second s0-60 16 mpg. All GLS models come with that same 20 HP 147 lb.-ft electric boost from the Integrated Starter Generator nestling in the nose of their AMG Speedshift TCT 9-speed automatic transmissions. They also all get Benz 4Matic all-wheel drive and are governed to 155 mph maximum speed.
 
Straight up, you will tell the new GLS apart by their bolder and even more striking grilles, more prominent bumpers with integrated inlet grilles and larger faux under guards. Add lettered ‘Maybach’ branding and sexy optional forged 23 inch wheels. Maybach cabin highlights include opulent state-of-the-art luxury diamond quilt style first class seats and animated projection ambient lighting. Mirrored rear cabin MBUX adds multi-seat entertainment system.
