Mercedes-Benz fans are in for an electrifying treat with the latest spy video of the much-anticipated third-generation CLA. Set to be unveiled at the 2023 Munich Auto Show, this cutting-edge 4-door sedan promises to redefine the future of luxury vehicles.

Futuristic Design and Cutting-Edge Technology
The recent spy shot of the Mercedes CLA from walkoARTvideos provides a glimpse of the stunning design that awaits, hinting at the direct competition it poses to leading EV contenders like the BMW i4, Tesla Model 3, and Nio ET5. With a sleek coupe-like profile, rounded roofline, and bold illuminated grille, the new car exudes modernity and elegance, a striking representation of its maker’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive innovation.

Debuting the MMA Platform
The third-generation CLA is the first model to be built upon the German luxury automaker’s revolutionary Modular Mercedes Architecture (MMA) platform, a groundbreaking hybrid structure that accommodates both conventional internal-combustion engines and state-of-the-art battery-electric drivetrains. This flexible architecture opens the door to an array of possibilities, providing drivers with the option of standard single-motor rear-wheel drive or the choice of optional dual-motor all-wheel drive.

A Versatile Powertrain for Global Markets
Mercedes plans to offer the new CLA with a variety of powertrain options tailored to different markets. In selected regions, a newly developed gasoline engine, most probably a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit, will complement the lineup of battery-electric drivetrains. This move is aimed at catering to diverse customer needs while reinforcing the brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Expanding the “Entry Luxury” Lineup
The third-generation CLA is a vital component of Mercedes’ “Entry Luxury” lineup, which encompasses a range of models based on the innovative MMA platform. In addition to the CLA sedan, the lineup will include successors to the CLA Shooting Brake, GLA CUV, and GLB SUV, all poised to set new standards in the luxury automotive market.

A Global Collaboration
The new Mercedes-Benz CLA will be a result of an exciting international collaboration. Developed by the German automaker, it will be manufactured by Geely in China before making its way to Europe. Production is set to take place at Mercedes-Benz’s Rastatt plant in Germany and the Kecskemét plant in Hungary to cater to the American market.

A Glimpse into Mercedes-Benz’s Electrified Future
The spy video of the third-generation CLA is just a taste of the incredible things Mercedes has in store for the automotive industry at the upcoming Munich Auto Show. With the MMA platform being one of four new platforms in development, the automaker is committed to revolutionizing electric mobility, extending beyond passenger cars to include AMG performance models and electric-powered commercial vehicles.
