Mercedes-AMG G 63 Punchy Luxury Truck Gets Dipped In Carbon Fiber

We haven’t heard TopCar’s name in a rather long time, but that does not mean that the tuner has completely ignored the new-age automotive world; it is just that we have turned a blind eye to their projects.

But not anymore, as one of the latest builds that this company has recently signed is the Mercedes-AMG G 63 pictured above. The luxury truck looks like a car predator with its new carbon fiber extras, and while some gearheads will probably say that it is an absolutely horrible ride, we think that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, as the saying goes, and to us, it falls somewhere between cool and ugly.

Nevertheless, we are not here to tell you our opinion on this modified Mercedes-AMG G 63, but to talk about the mods, starting with that muscular hood that is presented in naked carbon fiber. The same goes for the front grille, front bumper, fender extensions at both ends, side skirts, and door mirror casings. The entire rear bumper and the three-fin diffuser appear to have been crafted from the same lightweight material.

If that is not enough carbon fiber for your taste (it probably is, right?), then you should know that this Mercedes-AMG G 63 rocks even more of it on the sides and on the roof. The rear spare wheel holder was made from the same material, and so have other elements that we have not mentioned.

The intricate-looking wheels with their glossy black look, which spin around a set of red brake calipers with black AMG branding, also came from the aftermarket world, and so did the new side-mounted exhaust tips, and a few other things. This muscular-looking Mercedes G-Wagen also has a set of extra lights above the front windscreen, and where carbon fiber is not present, it sports a satin black look, which may be either a paint finish or perhaps a simple wrap, though we lean on the former.

TopCar has not opened the door of this tuned Mercedes-AMG G 63, which likely means that the interior is bone-stock. Zooming in on some of the images reveals that black is the color that dominates the cockpit, and it is joined by a few red elements for contrast, in a similar vein to the car’s enhanced exterior.

There is no word about the powertrain, so the 4.0L bi-turbo V8 motor should still pump out 577 brake horsepower (430 kW/585 ps) and 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque. With zero modifications, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 needs 4.5s to reach 62 mph (100 kph), though due to all the extras on the pictured vehicle, we reckon this one is a bit slower. So, do you like it?
