MANSORY Gronos EVO S Final Edition, the ultimate performer based on the Mercedes-AMG G63 (W463), with a significant 1.000 PS and 1.250 Nm performance in the actual brand new aerodynamics programme.
Having shown you a controversial Tesla Cybertruck called the Mansory Elon…gation earlier today, it is now time to spotlight a different project from the same tuner.
Christened the Mansory Gronos EVO S Final Edition, it represents the tuner’s farewell to the W463 iteration of the Mercedes-AMG G 63. However, we reckon Mansory would still turn your pre-facelifted second-gen G-Wagen into a kitschy ride for the right money, so we don’t think that goodbye, or, as the Germans would say, ‘auf wiedersehen,’ is real.
But that’s a story for the future, as we now have to turn our attention to this Mercedes-AMG G 63, which features plenty of modifications inside and out and under the hood. The first thing that stands out is that special color combo that mixes forged carbon and matte black. For what it’s worth, we are not fans of Mansory’s (or any other tuner’s) forged carbon nonsense, but in this case, we have to admit that it makes the vehicle look like a predator.
The predatory features continue with a set of claw-like extra DRLs mounted in the front bumper. The roof also features some extra lights that should come in handy while exploring the great outdoors at night, yet that won’t happen with those wheels and tires, so it is a showy build and not a real overlander. The aftermarket alloys would feel better at home on a Rolls-Royce than a Mercedes, but hey, it is what it is.
Mansory’s Gronos EVO S Final Edition features fender flares, attachments below the front and rear bumpers, a new grille, a roof-mounted wing, and something quite strange at the rear: two sets of taillights. The tuner installed the lower units, whereas the upper ones are OEM. Mansory’s name decorates the new tailgate-mounted spare wheel holder, and can also be seen on other components.
The vehicle’s name decorates the center console, as well as the dash-mounted grab handle on the passenger’s side, and more Mansory touches are visible on the inside. This tuned Mercedes-AMG G 63 features a new overhead console with an integrated push-button start for a fighter approach, has Mansory Atelier emblems on the seats, and a quite nice, especially for a Mansory, brown leather upholstery that suits the 4×4’s nature very good.
It’s all about the details when it comes to the Mansory Gronos EVO S Final Edition, as chances are you will spot quite a few novelties when zooming in on the pictures shared in the gallery above. This applies to the SUV’s exterior and interior, as well as the engine bay, which now hosts more ponies than the stock Mercedes-AMG G 63, and that is certainly a win, as there is no such thing as having too much oomph in a G-Wagen, is it?
According to the social media post embedded at the bottom of this page, this Mansory boasts no fewer than 1,000 metric horsepower, which is 986 brake horsepower and 736 kilowatts, with the thrust being rated at 1,250 Nm or 922 pound-feet. As a result, even if the vehicle may weigh more than the stock one due to the all the add-ons mentioned above and then some, it should be more agile.
Unfortunately, the controversial tuner hasn’t said anything about the car’s boosted performance, yet it is probably safe to say that it can reach 60 mph (97 kph) from rest in less than four seconds, given that the stock G 63 takes 4.5 seconds to deal with the sprint. Without any modifications whatsoever, the pre-facelifted Mercedes-AMG G 63 could complete the standing 1/4-mile in twelve and a half seconds, with an exit speed of 110 mph or 177 kph.
You certainly remember what powers this model, as it is the Affalterbach sub-brand’s ubiquitous bi-turbo V8. The engine has a 4.0-liter displacement and is good for 577 horsepower (585 ps/430 kW) in this iteration of the Mercedes-AMG G 63, and delivers 627 pound-foot (850 Nm) of torque to the four-wheel drive system through an automatic transmission.
If you are not new to autoevolution, then you are aware that we (okay, I) tend to make fun of Mansory’s projects, and for a very good reason, as most of them are absolutely horrible to look at. However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t sell. Quite the opposite, in fact, as almost everything this tuner touches costs a lot of money. The same goes for the new Gronos EVO S Final Edition, yet we cannot tell you the exact number as it hasn’t been released.
What I wanted to say is that this Mercedes-AMG G 63 is a very cool vehicle, especially for something that came from this tuner’s portfolio, as everything blends in very nicely, from that custom exterior to the reupholstered cockpit and the jaw-dropping amount of power. So, congrats, Mansory, for a nicely executed build!
