Mercedes-Benz GLC X254 is expected to receive a mid-cycle facelift together with GLC Coupe C254. And we hope the most powerful GLC 63 S AMG will receive more ev-only range for the current plug-in hybrid powertrain or even Mercedes will return the V8 turbo engine to 63 AMG. As for the exterior and interior design, we have illustrated how Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE 2026 could look like with different color options.

Mercedes-Benz GLC 63 AMG – V8 with Exterior Facelift & New Interior

The premium German automaker launched the Mercedes-Benz GLC as a compact luxury crossover SUV in 2015, replacing the GLK-Class that had been in production since 2008 as an answer to models from the same class as the BMW X3 or Cadillac XT5.

As noted by Mercedes-Benz, it’s the high-riding equivalent of the C-Class, and due to its success, the first generation was produced in Germany, China, India, Finland, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The second generation arrived during the summer of 2022 with a mildly evolutionary design and the same body styles – SUV and coupe-SUV.

They’re very similar to the latest Mercedes-Benz C-Class, so all models come with four-cylinder engines and mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid systems. The range starts with the GLC 200 or GLC 220d, featuring 204 hp and 197 hp, respectively, aided by an EQ Boost MHEV system adding 23 horsepower. The flagship, meanwhile, is the GLC 63 S E Performance featuring the same M139 2.0-liter inline-four as the GLC 43 but with a PHEV setup instead of MHEV for a combined total of 671 hp.

While the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance is a veritable freight train with 752 lb-ft (1,020 Nm) of torque, 4Matic+, and a sprint to 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.5 seconds, not everyone was happy with the assembly. As such, the rumor mill believes that Mercedes will issue a mid-cycle refresh of the GLC series as fast as possible, maybe even for the 2026 model year.

Naturally, the members of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators dwelling across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI caught that whisper, and the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube have a satellite venue dubbed AutoYa Interior, so that’s where all the (CGI) Mercedes-AMG action is happening right now in the video feature embedded below.

According to the channel’s host, Mercedes could issue the facelift of the GLC and GLC Coupe SUVs that are in production in Germany, China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia sooner than we think, complete with a few subtle changes – including three-pointed star LED DRLs embedded in the headlights and possibly also the taillights.

Also, the host believes that Mercedes will either offer regular improvements of the current PHEV setup, like a longer all-electric range, or admit defeat and abandon the four-cylinder S E Performance setup altogether in favor of a return to the ubiquitous 4.0-liter AMG V8 engine – this time around featuring an MHEV setup. So, what do you think?

Additionally, the channel’s resident pixel master has crafted the potential design changes of the 2026 or 2027 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 in CGI, along with a complete color palette, as always. There’s also a quick comparison between the current GLC and the imagined one, just for good measure. Cool, right?
