Mercedes S-Class 2025 Alternative Design Language For Mercedes

The previous-generation Mercedes S-Class stayed in production for seven years, between 2013 and 2020. The latest is only four years old, and logic tells us it still has some three years before the three-pointed star presents its successor.

However, while the German automaker can still rest on its laurels in this segment, the rendering crowd believes it is perhaps time for the company’s BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 fighter to receive a new generation. We’ve already seen a couple of unofficial takes on a possible next-gen Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and this virtual model has again stepped into the CGI light.

We know what you are probably thinking: that you have already seen this digital illustration that tedoradze.giorgi shared on Instagram a few days ago. But you likely remember the one from earlier this month, with an emphasis on its face. This one, however, revolves around the profile and rear three-quarter styling, and between us, it is not bad at all – but it’s not perfect either.

The differences compared to the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class are clear, as everything was virtually refreshed. This includes the roofline that abruptly ends above the rather flat trunk lid, flush-mounted door handles for a cleaner look, a rather long rear overhang that would translate into a superior cargo area, a full-width light bar linking the new taillamps together, and fresh tailpipe trim in the sporty diffuser.

For the exterior paint finish, the pixel manipulator retained that white hue we saw on the hypothetical Mercedes S-Class a couple of weeks ago. With their intricate pattern and bi-tone look, the wheels carry over, and some black trim provides contrast. We can also see a few chrome appointments, and the windows were partially darkened.

Overall, we think this boxier take on a future S-Class may be on to something, especially when compared to BMW’s approach. With a few modifications here and there, we reckon these renderings might inspire Mercedes’ design team, which has likely already started sketching out the brand’s next-gen flagship sedan.

Meanwhile, in the real world, we expect Mercedes to introduce a mid-cycle refresh of the current S-Class in 2025. The facelifted iteration is already in prototype form, sporting a larger grille, a new front bumper, and refreshed taillights. The lighting units at the other end will sport different graphics, and it should also get a different rear bumper.

A reshaped dashboard panel is said to be part of the revisions, with the Hyperscreen taking center stage inside. The chassis may also be revised with an emphasis on improved comfort, and we think the engine family, or some of it, anyway, will sport some minor upgrades. More on the facelifted S-Class when the time comes, but before that happens, what’s your take on this hypothetical next-generation?
