Mercedes may not be interested in launching a six-wheel drive version of the latest generation G-Wagen, but several tuners have already done so. Case in point, meet the latest, which bears Mansory’s signature.

The controversial tuner started the work by extending the frame, which is now 1,375 mm (54.1 in) longer. Further chopping took place at the rear, as it has been converted into a pickup. It sports custom fender flares at both ends, new bumpers, a different grille that no longer screams AMG through its vertical slats, a muscular hood, and a roof rack.
Turning night into day off the beaten path is done at the push of a button (or a flick of a switch), courtesy of the extra lights mounted on the roof and front bumper. Nevertheless, it would need chunkier tires for enhanced traction. This Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6 comes with 10×22-inch wheels wrapped in 325/55 rubber. Mansory recommends choosing the fatter tires that come with the 9×20-inch alloys.

An integrated tire inflation system is on deck, so adjusting the pressure can be done without exiting the vehicle. This should come in handy off the beaten path, alongside the elevated ground clearance. According to the tuner, the off-roader is now 250 mm (9.8 in) taller than its stock self. Moreover, it is also 250 mm (9.8 in) wider, so your garage would have to be rather big to accommodate it if you think of making it yours.
But more on that in a few moments, as we also have to tell you about the cockpit. It includes a new sports steering wheel, aluminum pedals, new trim, and a starlight headliner featuring over 3,000 LEDs. The upholstery has a minty fresh look and special quilting, joined by white piping. The tuner’s logo can be seen on a whole bunch of parts, from the headrest cushions and seatbelts to the steering wheel and floor mats.

Due to the extra work that went under the hood, comprising the new turbos, intercooler, fuel pumps, air filter, and sports exhaust system, as well as a remap, the bi-turbo 4.0-liter V8 now produces 900 ps (887 hp/662 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. That’s 315 ps (311 hp/232 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque more than the standard Mercedes-AMG G 63, which takes four and a half seconds to sprint to 100 kph (62 mph) and has a 220 kph (137 mph) limited top speed.
We promised we’d tell you more about the ownership part, so here it is: production of the Mansory Gronos 6×6, which is the project’s name, is capped at ten copies only. Mansory hasn’t released the pricing details, but as you already know, it costs a small fortune. On a final note, we must tell you that besides the gaudy specification of the pictured copy, the tuner has various other hues for the exterior and cockpit on its shelves, so yours could look good if you plan on buying it.

A federal judge has ordered the release of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father from the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas, according to a ruling obtained by CNN.

Liam and his father, Adrian, were taken by immigration agents from his snowy suburban Minneapolis driveway and sent 1,300 miles to a Texas detention facility designed to detain families. They have been detained for more than a week.

The order specifies the preschooler and his father be released “as soon as practicable” and no later than Tuesday as their immigration case proceeds through the court system. The ruling, shared with CNN by the judge’s courtroom deputy, was first reported by the San Antonio Express-News.
“We are now working closely with our clients and their family to ensure a safe and timely reunion,” the family’s lawyers said in a Saturday statement. “We are pleased that the family will now be able to focus on being together and finding some peace after this traumatic ordeal.”

In a scathing opinion, which at times read more like a civics lesson, US District Judge Fred Biery admonished “the government’s ignorance of an American historical document called the Declaration of Independence” and quoted Thomas Jefferson’s grievances against “a would-be authoritarian king,” saying today people “are hearing echos of that history.”

Liam’s detention – and the striking photo of an agent clutching the boy’s Spider-Man backpack as he stared from under a cartoon bunny hat – fed mounting outrage over the Trump administration’s massive immigration crackdown in Minneapolis and renewed the question: What happens to children when their parents are abruptly taken by ICE?
In another diversion from the norms of judicial writing, the judge included the now famous image of Liam at the end of his opinion, under his signature, along with references to the Bible passages Matthew 19:14 and John 11:35.
Liam’s case, Biery wrote, originated in “the ill-conceived and incompetently-implemented government pursuit of daily deportation quotas, apparently even if it requires traumatizing children.”
“Observing human behavior confirms that for some among us, the perfidious lust for unbridled power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds and are bereft of human decency,” wrote the judge. “And the rule of law be damned.”
