Here is my rendering for the Mercedes-Benz Little-G / Baby G-Wagon Concept. The Little-G is expected to be an emissions-free off-roading SUV due to its battery powered all-electric powertrain. It will be the smaller version of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQG which is the EV variant of the iconic G-Class.

The mighty Mercedes G-Wagen is finally getting the smaller sibling it deserves, and this time around, it’s no rumor (ahem, GLB!), as the company’s head honcho, Ola Kallenius himself, made the big announcement a couple of months ago.
You have to wait “a few years” to get your hands on it, according to the Mercedes CEO, but “the daughter or son of the big G is going to come to G fans around the world.” This is where the official stuff ends, and the speculation begins, starting with its name and ending with its size and powertrain options.
Word on the street is that they might christen it the g-Class (or the g-class) instead of the G-Class to emphasize its smaller nature. Nonetheless, it might not be that small, as the Suzuki Jimny won’t be its biggest rival in the segment. Chances are it will actually take a swing as the two-door versions of the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco, albeit with a premium twist and the obvious price boost.
Another big news revolves around the power options, as it has been reported that it won’t launch with internal combustion engines at all. The three-pointed star could use the MMA architecture, which was developed for electric vehicles and features the 800V tech for quicker charging times. At first glance, this might come as a shock, given the hairy-chested nature of the real G-Wagen, but let’s not forget that Mercedes is also putting the final touches on the EQG as we speak, as the model will survive the electric era with all-quiet power and no tailpipes.
Considering that it is still a few years away, it is likely that its design hasn’t been approved yet. However, it will probably resemble a smaller G-Class with similar boxy proportions. Starting from this idea several rendering artists have already sketched it out. The latest digital take on the model came from SRK Designs on YouTube and shows it dressed up in off-road attire, looking ready to take on some arduous tracks and emerge victorious.
The boxy styling is on deck, alongside the famous round headlamps inspired by its larger sibling and a normal Mercedes grille with horizontal slats, as it is not in the AMG flavor (there’s no word so far about a possible version signed by the Affalterbach sub-brand). The off-roader has wide fenders, underbody protection, a large bulbar up front integrated into the steel bumper, humongous tires wrapped around its wheels, a big ground clearance, and a roof rack complete with additional lights.
We think this is an exaggerated unofficial take on the baby G, as it could look more down-to-earth once it breaks cover. Nevertheless, tuning companies are bound to release some interesting upgrades for it, and in a more extreme proposal, its off-roading credentials could be boosted. All we have to do now is wait and see how it looks, what powers it, and how big it is.
