While Mercedes is putting the final touches on the upcoming S-Class, the rendering world cannot have enough of it.
We have already shared quite a few CGI takes on the brand’s flagship sedan these past few months. Some of them were on the realistic side of things, whereas others were quirky and had nothing to do with the real deal. So, where does the latest digital illustration, which came from @carsystems on Instagram, stand? On the realistic side of the equation, as it was based on the latest spy shots, namely those that you can see here.
The quoted company provided a before-and-after look at the rendered 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, so that you can better see the differences between the two. And it’s not like it is a mild makeover that will fly under the radar, as the new one features star-infused headlights that suit the design perfectly. The front grille is also significantly larger, and due to this aspect, the lower part of the bumper was completely redesigned and is now home to different air intakes, both on the sides and in the middle.
This is quite more than a mere rendering of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class (it is not only the Benz that’s being updated), as the company mentioned above has already released those headlights for the outgoing iteration of the brand’s flagship sedan. Therefore, if you own this model and would like to upgrade it with the star-infused headlights, then you can reach out to the tuner. We don’t know how much this goodie costs, yet it is probably not cheap, though @carsystems will answer this question for you.
Now, if you thought the Mercedes S-Class that is currently in the testing and fine-tuning phase of development is an entirely new generation, then you are wrong. The three-pointed star brand’s rival to the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 is a facelift, meant to keep it on the appealing side of the segment until the automaker decides what the best approach is for the next generation. The model will have updated front and rear fascias, and quite a few novelties on the inside, including a new MBUX Hyperscreen that will dominate the dashboard panel.
It is believed that the powertrain family could undergo a few revisions, yet we wouldn’t look for any significant modifications in this department. As for how long one must wait for the facelifted Mercedes S-Class, the answer is probably a few months. The outgoing one is a 2026 model, so it would only be natural for the upcoming one to launch for the 2027 model year. The pricing will likely be revised, and you can expect to pay a bit more for the facelift once it arrives at dealers nationwide.
