We have covered quite a few renderings of a hypothetical next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class recently, though few of them have stuck with us.

One was that insanely gorgeous CGI-infused concept from a couple of weeks ago, which came from AscarissDesign on YouTube, inspired by the spectacular Vision Iconic Concept, a two-door grand tourer that harks back to the golden age of motoring by boasting an incredible design.
Do you know what other virtual concept the study inspired? That’s right, this hypothetical next-gen Mercedes-Benz S-Class that recently came out. This one has Kolesa’s name written all over it, and we think it’s worth a closer look. If you think you have seen that grille before, you have seen it on the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept. The same goes for the curvaceous back end and thin LED taillamps.
The wheels have nothing to do with the show car presented earlier this month, and that’s all right, as we think these multi-spoke ones fit the rendered model perfectly. This imagined Mercedes S-Class has flush-mounted door handles, a large emblem on the trunk lid, the three-pointed star logo on the hood, star-studded LED headlights with a teardrop shape, L-shaped vents in the front bumper, and an integrated chin spoiler.
This car is presented in white and sports numerous chrome elements on the outside. But the big question is, does it look good? Beauty is obviously in the eyes of the beholder, and as much as we would like to love the car’s overall design, we think that it is a bit too much. Taken separately, each element looks great, but when mixing them together, they create a kind of odd-looking vehicle.

If it were us, we would have spent more time refining this virtual project, as the curvaceous back end does not exactly work perfectly with the angular line on the lower parts of the body, nor the ones on the hood. Ultimately, the grille is a bit too large for this hypothetical next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and we also think the pixel master behind these CGIs should have further refined the window line.
Nevertheless, that does not mean that we absolutely hate it. In fact, this imagined ride falls right between the love-it-or-hate-it saying for us. Still, it could be something that might eventually grow on us. You know, kind of like BMW’s Neue Klasse design language, which looked absolutely horrible at first, yet it has started looking better and better with each scoop and rendering.
Needless to say, neither the next-gen S-Class nor the facelifted one will look anything like this, though it is an interesting virtual proposal. What do you have to say about the rendered luxury sedan that recently came from the quoted outlet?
