We have grown used to seeing detailers work their magic tricks on abandoned cars, which come out into broad daylight after years spent in some barn or backyard. However, new cars need detailing, too. The owner of this Mercedes-AMG GT S called the detailer and asked for health. Seven hours later, his sports car looked like it had never even left the showroom floor.
Mercedes-AMG GT S Cleaning The Dirtiest Supercar Ever
Barn finds that stayed untouched for decades, or cars that were used and abused, looking like all car washes had gone bankrupt. That is what detailers are used to. Or that is the kind of content we are used to seeing from them.
However, this Mercedes-AMG GT S is none of those. The car has been braving the Canadian winter, and it looks like the Canadian winter won. Finished in black over an orange and black interior, the AMG has been “repainted” by mud and salt from the road, so it drove right into the detailer’s shop in an attempt to become its usual self.
What detailer Mitch got his hands on is a car powered by AMG’s 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, which debuted with this model back in September 2014 as a 2014 model year. The V8 pumps out 503 horsepower (510 metric horsepower) and 479 pound-feet (650 Newton meters) of torque. Those make the sports car run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 3.7 seconds and max out at 193 mph (310 kph).
Mitch starts with a power wash that is supposed to remove the mold that the car has been collecting on the Canadian roads. Then, he washes the dirt off the wheels and wheel wells, as dark water comes out from underneath.
He also sprays the underside, because surely it must have seen a lot of dirt, too. Once again, the color of the water coming out confirms the prediction. Foam is up next. Mitch uses a soft brush to access all the creases and crevices of the car, all the As, Ms, and Gs of the AMG, as well as remove the filth that went into the honeycomb grille.

The owner of this Mercedes-AMG made a smart move at some point. He decided to ceramic-coat his car, which not only makes washing easier but also protects the original paint.
When power-washed, the black floor mats also leave behind brown water. All our trunks hide some… dark secret, and the detailer finds a pair of black wings back there. Still, you know what they say: don’t drive faster than your guardian angel can fly. However, the angel who owns that pair of wings must have been “smoked” a bit.
Vacuuming the interior is easy, because the leather on the seats and high-quality carpeting won’t oppose the procedure. A soft brush is also useful for the cabin of the car, where fine trim is easily scratchable.
As a final touch, the detailer uses a silicone spray sealant that adds a layer of protection to the paint that is already sheltered under the ceramic coating. This way, the metallic black will keep its shine for a longer time.
Once the detailing is complete, which is seven hours after Mitch began working on the Mercedes-AMG GT S, the car looks like it has never driven off the showroom floor. However, it might look terrible by the time the owner gets home. He resides in Canada, and winter over there are really something.
