Amidst the dynamic changes in the automotive market, dominated by bulky and massive packages for the G-Class, the Carlex Vintage project stands out for its uniqueness and finesse. Our exceptional modification defies prevailing trends, giving the G-Class an unparalleled, timeless character.
Carlex Vintage Mercedes G-Class By CARLEX DESIGN
It’s been a little over two months since we last heard any news from Carlex Design. However, the Polish tuner is now back with yet another project part of its Vintage class, which builds on the 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
The model in question is a pure automotive gem, and it’s likely that fans of the G-Wagen feel the same. After all, what’s not to love about a retro-inspired copy that retains the modern amenities and iconic design and boasts a custom interior?
Starting on the outside, this Carlex Vintage Mercedes G-Class has chrome bumpers at both ends and a classic Mercedes logo attached to the hood. The grille is new and displays the tuner’s emblem. The model features additional chrome touches on the side mirror caps, wiper blades, window surrounds, and other elements.
As if this wasn’t enough, the aftermarket specialist has given it a wider presence with carbon fiber fender flares. Carlex Vintage emblems decorate the project, which sits on retro-inspired forged wheels with wheel caps. The new tires have a white stripe on them, evoking a long-gone era, and the wheel holder attached to the rear door is custom.
Besides all these goodies and the fact that the latest Carlex-tuned Mercedes G-Class is almost four inches (10 cm) wider and four inches taller, it also boasts a reupholstered interior, which is something that the Polish tuner is famously known for. It has hand-woven perforated leather, Carlex embossing in the door sill elements, special embroidery, an Alcantara headliner, two-tone Nappa leather upholstery, and hand-stitched detailing.
Carlex calls this build the Sabbia (Italian for sand – a reference to its overall look inside and out) 1-of-7, stating that its colors were inspired by sand and vanilla. The trunk was lined with walnut wood and white grout, and special stitching on the plastic elements is also visible in the cargo area. Moreover, ingress and egress have been improved despite the premium truck riding higher off the ground compared to the stock variants due to the electric retractable side steps.
According to the tuner, the Vintage bundle of upgrades is available for the facelifted versions of the Mercedes-AMG G 63, as well as the Mercedes-Benz G 500 (G 550 in our market) and the diesel variants. However, one doesn’t necessarily have to own the refreshed iteration of the Mercedes G-Wagen to enjoy these goodies, as they can also be equipped to the pre-facelifted models.
In addition, Carlex Design is always open to additional personalization. However, interested parties should refrain from asking this tuner to modify the oily bits, as that’s not on the menu. That’s why we haven’t mentioned the powertrain at all in this story. So, do you dig the latest Carlex Vintage Mercedes G-Class? We do!
