The next-generation Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe (the sedan version of the true GT coupe) will have an all-electric powertrain, but today the focus is on the cockpit only.

Mercedes-Benz has been keeping itself busy since the start of the year. They revealed they sold 2.16 million vehicles across the group last year and want an even better performance with a ton of new models, facelifts, and all-new generations. First and foremost, though, they’re celebrating 140 years of innovation with an “epic trans-continental journey” across the continents performed physically and digitally with the mid-cycle refresh of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The flagship limousine kicked off the year’s bonanza for the premium German automaker, and they also revealed they will start a robotaxi ecosystem with the luxury sedan, among other things. Even better, the new Mercedees-AMG GLC and GLC Coupe 53 4Matic+ models feature the return of the inline-six engine under their hoods instead of seeing another four-pot.

Plus, in a few days from now, Mercedes-Benz Vans will premiere the all-new, all-electric VLE minivan based on the company’s modular, flexible, and scalable van architecture. Well, they continue along the same electrified line, and now they tease the “control center of performance,” the cockpit of the brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe.
Well, this driver-oriented interior is headlined by the AMG Race Engineer, an “intelligent integration of high-end hardware and software,” which also has a control unit for direct access to the vehicle’s “central nervous system to enable intuitive control of response, agility, and traction.” That’s nice, but if you ask us, the bezels of the triple screen setup are a bit on the thick side. Just sayin’
Anyway, at least there are some physical controls – some on the steering wheel and others on the thick central tunnel: a trio of rotary dials and a line of buttons and knobs sitting just ahead of the wireless charger tray. By the way, the flat-bottom AMG Performance steering wheel features roller and rocker switches, and there’s also haptic feedback.

The cockpit, meanwhile, is comprised of a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, which isn’t exactly impressive, a 14-inch central monitor, which is today’s normal, and there’s also a third 14-inch display for the passenger seat. The company showed off the optional AMG Performance seats with integrated head restraints, and the rear ones will accept another two passengers, making the new AMG a 2+2 vehicle.
There’s also “sophisticated” ambient lighting with “high-resolution, atmospheric ambient styles” and the latest Mercedes Benz User Experience (MBUX) based on the Group’s new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) that also includes a new ‘AMG Special’ style, as well as ‘Classic’ or ‘AMG Track Pace’ screen styles. Last but not least, there’s a one-piece panoramic glass roof with individual segments that can be switched between transparent and non-transparent separately.
