Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6 Brabus Creates A Totally Different Vehicle

Brabus has a long history of turning different generations of the Mercedes G-Wagen into stunning works of art. The iconic premium truck has fallen into the hands of the famous tuner yet again, this time in its latest iteration, and it has become the Brabus XLP 800 6×6 Adventure. Yep, it is a six-wheel drive monster!
 

The famous tuner made a massive steel frame for the pickup body, because it’s not an SUV anymore, but a workhorse that measures a massive 245 inches (6.23 meters) in length. It has an 18.6-inch (47 cm) ground clearance, and the wheelbase was extended by 60.2 inches (153 cm). A new rear wall was also installed behind the rear seats, and the cargo bed was lined with soft teak paneling. A power-retractable step provides easier access to the bed, and a dual roll bar is also in place, equipped with two powerful LED lights.
 
It’s not only Mercedes that has developed a thing for portal axles recently, but also Brabus, so the pictured Mercedes-AMG G 63 boasts them, alongside other serious work performed on the chassis. Brabus says the damping rate can be changed from the cabin, adding that the six wheels measure 9.5×22 inches in size and were wrapped in 325/55 tires that fit under the extra-wide wheel arches with exposed carbon trim. Additional carbon highlights are also on deck, making up the dedicated body kit that further makes this six-wheel-drive monster stand out.
 

The rear doors open up to 90 degrees to facilitate ingress and egress, and there are also power stems on deck. The integrated LED lights illuminate the running boards, and as you can imagine, the interior was reupholstered. Red touches can be seen providing some contrast, and the vehicle also sports more high-gloss carbon applications. The pictured truck features black leather upholstery with the aforementioned red touches for contrast, and we think this look suits it like a glove. The vehicle has seating for five, with two at the front and three at the rear.
 
The 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 has also been upgraded with two aftermarket superchargers, so the Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6 in question now rocks 789 brake horsepower (800 ps/588 kW) at 6,600 rpm and 738 pound-feet (1,000 Nm) of torque at 3,600 rpm. The output goes to the three axles via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Brabus claims that its new XLP 800 6×6 Adventure takes a very decent (for such a ginormous ride) 5.8 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 kph) from a standstill, and in order to preserve the off-road tires, its top speed has been electronically limited to 130 mph (210 kph). Pricing for this beast is set at €1,161,000 (equal to $1,350,580) for export markets and excludes the 19% VAT.
