Fellowship of Falcons: VO Vapen & Carlex Design Collaboration
Carlex and VO Vapen came together to create a custom collaboration between a G-Falcon Mercedes-AMG G63 and the VO Falcon rifle.
Carlex Design and Swedish manufacturer of fine firearms VO Vapen might be an unorthodox collaboration, but the result is a lavish lesson in luxury. Of course, Carlex Design has a history of transforming G-Wagons into thematic custom builds. For instance, the luxury builder has created a maritime theme G-Yachter and even a wild “Steampunk” edition.
However, the latest creation from Carlex is the “G-Falcon,” a one-of-one custom Mercedes-AMG G63 adorned with bespoke metal work and “leather patination,” which the brand calls “a process that has stood the test of time, combining ancient tradition with modern manufacturing.” As for the collaboration between Carlex Design and VO Vapen, the brands call it a “Fellowship of the Falcons.”
In addition to Carlex Design’s custom G-Falcon, VO Vapen is unveiling its similarly named bolt-action hunting rifle, the VO Falcon. The luxury hunting-day pairing will make its public debut at ADIHEX 2024. It’s the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, perhaps the most appropriate venue possible for the posh combination.
G-Falcon: Custom, One-Of-a-Kind AMG G63 Four Years in the Making
Onlookers will be able to tell the base vehicle upon which the custom luxury SUV is based is a Mercedes-AMG G63. However, the rest of the custom build is outrageous opulence, from diamond dust paint treatments and custom metal work featuring real gold. The entire project took over four years to complete.
Carlex touts the elaborate roof as the undeniable centerpiece of the custom AMG G63. “The most important element of the G-Falcon is undoubtedly the hand-crafted roof with falcon relief – intricately applied decorative patterns – highlighted by subtle touches of gold on the polished metal.”
