Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Roadster Keyvany Extreme Tuning

German aftermarket tuner Keyvany recently unveiled its new package for the Mercedes-AMG SL63 roadster, which features extreme visual upgrades and performance enhancements to supposedly rival supercars. The tuner calls this build the “K820HP” or “SL820HP” and claims it’s a “First Edition” equipped with the world’s first carbon fiber body kit for the R232 Mercedes SL series.

The package provides a major visual overhaul highlighted by a new front bumper, front lip spoiler, vented hood, and rebadged grille with orange accents. The badges on top of the front fenders have been refinished in gloss black and the side skirts have aero extensions for an apparently more menacing look.

Likewise, the mirror caps have also been replaced as well as the wheels that now look like old-school telephone dials. At the rear, the roadster features orange detailing, over-the-top carbon fiber inserts, and a diffuser with F1-inspired vertical brake light.

Inside, the entire cabin has been thoroughly overhauled with orange leather combined with white stripes on the seat covers. Meanwhile, the steering wheel benefitted from a carbon fiber boss cover.

The only good thing that may have come out from all of these overrated extras is the upgrade in the car’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which now boasts 820 hp and 723 lb-ft of torque. Although the tuner did not specify how the output was increased, it claims that this new creation is capable of impressive acceleration and speed. It should be noted that the stock version of the unit has a 0-60 acceleration time of 3.5 seconds and a max speed of nearly 200 mph.

Overall, the extreme tuning has ruined the appeal of the iconic Mercedes-AMG SL 63. The original selling points of the car have been replaced with what some might consider excessive and gaudy designs. If we didn’t know any better, we might have thought of this as a cheap knockoff of the SL or the AMG GT.

Keyvany has yet to detail what its conversion would sell for, but pre-orders are now open. As the base car already costs at least six figures, it’s safe to say that the tuning package here will come with a hefty price tag.
