By simply looking at this Mercedes-Benz V-Class, you could be excused for thinking it is just like any other. However, it has been fitted with a twin-turbocharged V8 and is the perfect definition of a ‘sleeper.’
GAD Mercedes V-Class w/ 585HP 4.0 V8 Biturbo Engine on the DRAG STRIP!
This V-Class comes from German tuning firm GAD Motors and sports AMG’s beloved M177 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 used by the likes of the Mercedes-AMG C 63, E 63, GT 63, G 63, as well as the Aston Martin DB11 V8, Vantage, and DBX.
The V-Class was once powered by a diesel engine with 190 hp but thanks to its new V8, as well as a handful of alterations made to the V8 by GAD, it now delivers 585 hp. Complementing the new powertrain are beefed-up carbon ceramic brakes and a modified suspension system. There is also a new exhaust.
There are only a couple of tell-tail signs from the outside that reveal this is no ordinary V-Class. For example, it sets on a new set of wheels, sits lower than it once did, and has badges denoting its AMG engine. No changes have been made to the car’s interior, further adding to its sleeper appeal.
GAD Motors recently brought the van out to the Zweibrücken Airport in Germany for a rolling drag race where it was pitted alongside some serious competition including a BMW M5, McLaren 720S, Mercedes-AMG GT, and a C6 Chevrolet Corvette.
