If you’re a Formula 1 fan and you’ve got deep enough pockets, buying a 1:1 scale model replica of your favorite race car can make a whole lot of sense, especially if you’re looking forward to displaying it in your garage, or perhaps somewhere inside your massive home.

Clearly a lot of thought went into this 1:1 display model (it doesn’t run, it’s just for show), and whoever built it, made sure to get a lot of the details right. According to the ad, this Mercedes-AMG W10 replica was constructed by hand in Germany, using a mixture of carbon fiber and fiberglass.

It also comes with the appropriate silver and black Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team livery, plus all the sponsor logos (Tommy Hilfiger, Syntium, Pirelli, Epson, Crowdstrike). They did a nice job on the aero package too, meaning the front and rear wings, side pods, and the rear diffuser.

Meanwhile, other highlights include the halo, a faux air intake, the replica rain light, plus the wheels and tires, the latter being constructed with fiberglass, featuring yellow Pirelli scripts. Then there’s the braking system, which includes cooling ducts, cross-drilled rotors and red calipers, whereas the suspension boasts carbon fiber double-wishbones with push- and pull-rods.

According to the seller, the steering is functional, and the “vehicle” is able to roll, although they don’t recommend you do that – it’s best to just put it on display and leave it there (it can be displayed either horizontally or vertically).

Moving on to the cockpit, that’s where you’ll find the removable headrest, a fixed-back seat (said to be set in Hamilton’s preferred position), a Sabelt-style harness and a steering wheel with a quick-release hub, paddle shifters, digital readouts, simulated switchgear… the works.

Overall, this thing weighs roughly 1,500 lbs and measures 147” in length, 79” in width, and 37” in height. Technically, those dimensions should be spot on. They’re the same measurements one would have taken off the real W10 race car.

Is it worth $185,000?
If you’re a huge F1 fan and a Mercedes fan (obviously), then sure, perhaps it is. To you, at least. Objectively speaking though, the design isn’t 100% accurate. The nose section of the real W10 is completely different and much thinner. The rear wing is different, and so are the sidepods.

Initially, I thought this might be a preseason spec, but no, the real W10 looked different during preseason testing too.

What this looks like, to me at least, is a W09 – more or less. That nose section is really throwing me for a loop. It actually looks like the W08 nose, from back when F1 cars didn’t even have to wear a “halo”.

Anyway, here’s a quick recap of the W10’s achievements, just in case you forgot.

The W10 EQ Power+ F1 car was nothing short of a beast. It won 15 out of 21 Grand Prix, with Hamilton claiming 11 of those wins, and Valtteri Bottas four. This car also helped land Mercedes its sixth consecutive Constructors title, ending the year with 739 points.
