You just missed your opportunity to buy this Mercedes-Benz ML. The premium SUV recently went for pennies on the dollar at an online auction, fetching $5,200.
On average, the 2004 Mercedes-Benz ML sells for around $7,500. The lowest sale was a little over $3,600, and the priciest went for $11,750. Thus, at a little over $5,000, this car was truly a steal, especially since it has only 53,400 miles (~86,000 km) on the odo and a clean, accident-free Carfax report with no mileage discrepancies or accidents.
It’s an ML 500, meaning that it comes with a V8 engine. The 5.0-liter unit is paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, a 2-speed transfer case, and an all-wheel drive system. It was originally rated at 325 pound-foot (441 Nm) of torque, and 288 horsepower (292 ps/215 kW), and that may not be much by today’s standards, but keep in mind that this Benz is over two decades old.
Some of the gear includes a set of 17-inch wheels, a power sunroof, leather upholstery, front and rear automatic climate controls, folding third-row seats, power-adjustable front seats with heating, a Bose sound system, cruise control, wood trim, and roof rails. This ride is unmodified, and other than some wear on the seats and certain touch points inside, some chips on the outside, and old tires, it doesn’t have any issues.
The Carfax history report reveals a lot of work performed over the last few years, and the seller says he invested a lot of money in it, as he intended to keep it as a daily driver for many years. Still, for undisclosed reasons, he decided to sell it after less than a year of ownership. The SUV has a classy black-on-black look and is registered in British Columbia, Canada, featuring a metric instrument cluster.
Besides the car, which went under the gavel on Cars&Bids at an auction that ended on March 28, 2025, the winning bidder will get one key, a set of all-weather floor mats, a cargo mat, and the owner’s manual. Overall, this 2004 Mercedes-Benz ML was a steal at a little over $5,000, as specified above, and by the looks of it, the high-rider seems to have a lot of lift left in it despite being more than two decades old. So, congrats to the new owner for landing a very nice machine for pennies on the dollar.
Are you jealous that you didn’t get the chance to bid on this Mercedes ML while the auction was live? We are, as it’s not every day that one crosses paths with a nice and very cheap ride.
