Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO Is More Rare Than AMG ONE

In terms of rarity, this AMG GT 63 PRO is one of the lowest volume production AMG’s in decades.

AMG engines are built by hand. Why? Because items done by hand represent craftsmanship, and care by their creators. AMG’s fastidious assembly process reflects that high level of attention to the details. While the AMG ONE is the high watermark of performance, details are just as evident on the AMG GT 63 PRO Motorsport Collectors Edition.

DuPont Registry notes that just 200 of the AMG 63 PRO MCE’s exist. For perspective, there’s 275 more AMG ONE’s out there in the world. So what makes the PRO MCE such a unique machine? Being created by hand. Oh, and it has the hardware to back up the name.

Not only is the engine assembled by one master tech at AMG, but the Mercedes star motifs are hand-painted. Yep, each of the several dozen stars found by the rear haunches is painted by hand, from the smallest to the biggest. Same goes for the teal contrast color on the front and rear bumpers, side skirts and scallop around the side window frame.

But beyond paying homage to the AMG F1 car, the AMG GT 63 PRO is essentially the highest option spec you can get on an AMG GT 63. AMG’s venerable 4.0 twin turbo V8 is found under the hood. It gets a 27 horsepower bump for a total of 612, and total torque is 850nm (627 lb/ft), up from 800 flat.

To slow all that down, there’s 420mm brake rotors. For the imperialist among us, that’s sixteen and a half inch brakes. As such, there’s equally large 21 inch cross spoke rims. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires are basically street legal slick tires to keep you glued to the road.

Aero includes the fixed rear wing, but there’s active aero up front. It’s mainly for cooling purposes, but also reduced front end lift. But as a benefit, all the hard working parts of the driveline are kept cool even during extended duration hard track time.

But inside the AMG GT 63 PRO Motorsport Collector Edition is where things stay just as cool as the driveline. Teal stitching on the seats matches the Petronas AMG F1 team colors of the exterior, and special badging indicates the exclusive “1 of 200” limited run of the MCE. If you’re lucky enough to own or spot one in the US, you’ll be only 1 of 33.
