Mercedes-Benz X-Class Dark Destroyer By Chelsea Truck

Mercedes-Benz X-Class may have been discontinued since last year due to slow sales, but UK-based Chelsea Truck Company is currently offering a modified version of the pickup called “Dark Destroyer” with a price tag of £49,999 ($66,803).

The tuned X-Class benefits from Project Kahn’s styling package including wider fenders, protective door guards, vented bonnet, and black-painted bumpers for a sinister look.

The 22-inch RS-XF wheels are also painted in black, looking pretty cool in combination with those chunky Mud-Terrain tires and the suspension lift kit. The Dark Destroyer also gets tinted glass that can be bullet-proof and an optional hard-top for the rear bed.

Despite being originally unveiled in 2017, the X-Class still looks fairly modern for the segment, and can be improved further with the help of tuners. The Dark Destroyer is a nice example of that, and the only thing we would add would be a pair of LED headlights since the halogen units kind of look dated.

Inside, we find quilted soft leather upholstery with red accents and red stitching for the seats, plus new trim for the central armrest, the door armrests, and the dashboard. If this interior looks familiar it’s because a very similar spec was used on Project Kahn’s previous X-Class projects. Factory-fitted features include navigation, reversing camera, Bluetooth connectivity, an 8-speaker Audio System, and automatic lights/wipers.

Under the bonnet lies the stock 2.3-liter turbodiesel producing 190 hp (142 kW / 193 PS) and not the range-topping V6. Power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

This particular model was produced in 2019, and has 13,500 miles (21,726 km) on the odometer. It is currently available for sale through Chelsea Truck Company’s official website, but whoever likes it and already has an X-Class can buy the kit independently. Of course, you shouldn’t feel limited about the aforementioned modifications, since Chelsea Truck Company is offering plenty of options for those who are interested.
