Mercedes-AMG S 63 Hammer Seem Flat & Uninteresting

I’ve always liked the AMG Hammer so tonight’s post looks at what a modern-day version could look like.
 

Over the years, we have observed the wonderful parallel universes of vehicular CGI and their visionary members of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators long enough to understand their quirks and passions.
 
For example, Jim, a virtual artist better known as jlord8 on social media, loves messing around with all things CGI from the automotive realm, though especially when that stuff has ‘Made in America’ stamped all over it. As an exception, the pixel master also dabbles with Japanese things from time to time. However, this time around, he somehow dreams of a retro Mercedes even though European cars are always at the bottom of his CGI wish list.
 
As such, you’re more inclined to see an unofficial, hypothetical design project from Pontiac, Ford, GMC, Ram, Dodge, Mercury, Lincoln, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, or Buick rather than BMW, Nissan, Toyota, or Mercedes. Alas, they do pop up in his social media reel from time to time – and this time around, it’s not just any old or new Mercedes-Benz.
 
Instead, the CGI expert “always liked the AMG Hammer,” and they decided to check out “what a modern-day version could look like.” As a reminder, the W124 Mercedes-Benz AMG Hammer was that special model that kicked off the trend of high-performance executive sedans we all take for granted these days. It caused a worldwide stir in the automotive industry and was as close as possible to something we can only label as a ‘German muscle car.’
 
More precisely, the German engineers put a 6.0-liter V8 under the hood, bored out from the 5.6-liter M117 V8 of the luxurious W126 Mercedes 560 SEC land yacht, and it churned out 355 hp and 388 lb-ft (526 Nm) of torque, way more than a Chevy Corvette of the time. It was also fast enough to leave the 180 mph-rated Ferrari Testarossa behind in a trail of dust!
 
This time around, the author doesn’t show us a machine with a V8 dropped in a 1980s Mercedes-Benz E-Class but rather takes the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, most likely the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance, and gives it a massive front end with W124-inspired LED headlights and grille plus classic-looking dual-tone AMG alloy wheels.
Frankly, suppose you want our two cents on the matter. In that case, this digital composition not only pays a proper homage to the W124 Mercedes AMG Hammer but also makes the current Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance completely and utterly bland! Obviously, the community was immediately riddled with enthusiasm in the comments section.
 
Some lamented that Mercedes is emphasizing EVs instead of something like this for the future lineup; others asked for the Red Pig treatment, a reference to the 1971 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG race car that made history at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and a few even wanted more aero perks on it, such as the cool wing from the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evo II!
