Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance on Vossen GEN-04 (3-Piece) Finished with a Brushed Gloss Clear Center and Polished Gloss Clear Outer Barrel. Featuring our New AeroLips.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship sedan is coming up for a well-deserved mid-cycle refresh that will bring the usual array of design revisions, an upgraded cockpit, new technology, as well as more sustainable powertrains. But how do we know that?
As it turns out, our spy photographer partners recently caught the high-end 2026 model year Mercedes-Maybach S-Class testing in freezing weather at the end of January 2025, and we can all imagine that Mercedes will revise all the versions, not just the flagship Maybach variant. After all, it’s been a while since the seventh-generation W223 graced us with its presence.
The latest iteration has been known to humankind since late 2020 as a four-door sedan only after the coupe or convertible models were not replaced by new 2+2 models. Based on the second-generation Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform, the model arrived with the V12 engine exclusive to the Maybach versions.
Speaking of variations, there are plenty – the S 680 Guard that protects occupants at all costs, the plug-in hybrid S 450 e and S 580 e models, or the Edition 100, Haute Voiture, and the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance, which debuted in late 2022 with the Affalterbach-made 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 supported by an electric motor and a 13.1 kWh battery pack.
In symbiose, the assembly churns out a combined 802 ps or 791 horsepower and 1,430 Nm or 1,055 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to sprint from zero to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and to around 180 mph or 290 kph with the AMG Driver’s Package – and there’s also a Panamericana grille along with a massive embedded logo instead of a traditional hood ornament.
So, what can you do to make sure it stands out in any crowd, even when standing still or driving around silently at low speeds on electric power alone? If you ask the good folks over at Miami, Florida-based Vossen, which has a vast portfolio of aftermarket wheels, you can always gift it with a new set of ‘running shoes.’ So, this Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance wants to attract everyone’s attention with its fresh three-piece Vossen GEN-04 aftermarket wheels finished in Brushed Gloss Clear in the center and Polished Gloss Clear on the outer barrel.
Plus, the set also features the company’s new AeroLips – with the GEN-04 available in monoblock or three-piece models, with 48 finishes available (not counting the custom ones), and sizes 19 to 26 inch for the diameter plus 8.5 to 12 inches for the width. So, what do you think? Is this enough to make the Mercedes-Benz S-Class look young – or should we just wait for the refreshed models to arrive at dealerships and then treat them with aftermarket goodies?
